LOL.. I guess you haven't really heard Tarryk's views on SWG and AO...

I don't think he intends to leave Rubi-Ka till the blow the planet up and switch off the servers =)

I don't see myself moving on either... hehe

/me chuckles.

Yup, you're fairly new to the stream, but I'll spare you my opinions, and just say this:

I have no intentions whatsoever of even looking at the box on the shelf for that (insert insultingly descriptive adjectives here) game.

Hmm, parties on RK2 would be cool. I don't see any technical reason why they couldn't set up a Rimor GSP. doesn't affect the actual streaming one bit.

You'd just want to schedule stuf on different Dimensions at different times, and still have only one GSP stream

Forgive the insult ;). I would hope that Ao's favorite Dj wouldn't leave AO. But i was talking more about the 'company' of Gridstream rather than the Dj's themselves. I've like you guys work from when i first starting playing AO. And i was hoping to enjoy the same kind of in game radio i got from AO. Of course if Tarryk and the crew switch sometime in the future to SWG i won't be complaining ;)

Trist, That was hysterical! :) I personally have no intentions of playing SWG to start off with. But if I did, that would certainly be enough to sway me against it. :D

I'm what you might call a seasonal Star Wars fan. I'm not always a huge fan, but every now and then I'll go on a little nerdly binge of it. For that reason alone, I could never play an mmorpg of it. I'll just stick to Jedi Outcast.

And that video is a classic...I remember it making the rounds on Jedi Outcast boards about a year ago.

Gah. damn. bad news all!

Time Warner Entertainment has made an offer to "buy" GridStream Productions
and intend to turn it into a Multi-MMORPG Radio station
that will cover the news and current happenings in MMORPG's.

It will be ad run. And there will be major changes to the formatting of the programs.
Only Tarryk and Wulfven will stay. While several new "pro" dj's will be hired by TWE.

And since Time Warner and Sony Music and Time Warner and Fox Entertainment
has several businiess colaborations in the past and presently,
and the fact that Fox is the company behind the Star Wars movie releases with Lucasfilm.
And that Sony Entertainment (Which Sony Music etc is a subsidary of) is behind Star Wars Galaxies
there will be a large focus on SWG and Star Wars Movies.
Esp in the form of "specials" broadcasted on air focusing on SW and SWG,
including several "in character" news reports from the world of SWG etc.

The new GSP will air on the first Tuesday in month 4 this year.

I'm gonna miss GSP and all you listeners. but...
I wish Wulf and T best of luck. This is bigtime guys. you rawk.

I and most of the others in GSP will start up a new station called "Rubi-Ka Radio"
and we'll sorta continue in the same style as the GSP you all love and know as it currently is.

There is one good thing tough. The new GSP will sound much better since TWE has more resources...
And the fact that Nullsoft (the makers of Winamp and Shoutcast technology) is a subsidary of AOL.
And AOL in turn was bought up by none other than Time Warner Group
(which TWE is a subsidary of. sheesh these guys confuse me).

Anyway, the tech that Nullsoft has developed for streaming (for AOL services)
will be used for the new GSP so quality will be great, near CD quality...
(Winamp and Shoutcast etc by Nullsoft is free and made by the Nullsoft devs in their spare time,
and is part of the test work/development they implement in the tech used for AOL services etc)

I suspect that GSP will be one of the first internet stations using
Shoutcast-2 (I think there is 2 so far only,
one a Time Warner and Virgin Entertainment collaboration.
and the other a Time Warner/CNN-Radio
(CNN-Radio is a subsidary of CNN, which in turn is a Time Warner Entertainment company)
Sheesh. it's like a field of circles out here...

There will be a public statement soon about the GSP change.
This post is just a heads up... Take care peeps... Love ya!

Actually I just got a personal phone call from CNN morning anchor Paula Zahn, and she notified me that I too would be included in the transition to the Time Warner subsidary. Appearntly she went to the higher ups and delcared her undying devotion to "doing" DJ Otori, and therefore I'm being carried over to the new station format.....with the consequence of being Paula Zahn's (and possibly at times Aarron Browns sex slave *shudders*). Fear not, Otori's Abyss continues.....just maybe with some unwelcome bondage.
