About 2 weeks ago, my system decided to die. Found out htat it seemed the fan was messing up, but seemed fine after. Stupid me, instead of getting a new fan, went on with the old one.
Well, it died again about a week later. Shut down computer real quick, go get another fan. Put it on. Its fine for a day or two, or so it seems -- Looks like something else was wrong with the system.
Motherboard was shot. My Windows HArd Drive was shot. My processor was shot, along with my IDE card I had (I have 6 IDE devices in my system, dont ask)
Soooo...Lucky me, I have a spare processor, motherboard, and hard drive for windows in my closet.
Replace them, and Im back up. Only downside is, I had to sell my soul to the devil (Read as: Intel) to get my system back up again. But, it IS faster than before, and my Windows drive has more space on it and is a newer drive (The other one was at least 2 years old, if not 3)
Moral of the story, kiddies? If your fan dies, REPLACE IT RIGHT AWAY. Processors + Heat = NOT A GOOD THING
