Should they make a sequel to AO?

Talk about anything!

Eek. ^_^ On that note, I'm not down with 100% realism.
I think I'll take the reduced fat 90% realism.
All the same perks, less of what you don't need,
same great taste. ^_^

i never said i wanna have it realistic, damn i love to play u4et.
i just jump on when someone says cs is realistic, cause in real bullets CAN'T do 90° turne right behind the barrel.
(and the server was just the hlds.exe running on my own machine.)
.

and the thing with sneking behind ya oponent and stick ya knife/spade over his head, is absolutly great, in multiplayer,
in singleplayer its not so good, i HATE those sneakmissions in fps singleplayer mode ( those i always need to cheat me through :) ).

but if i remember righbt someone started this thread about rpgames not fps....

realistic fps is the worst thing there is.
i hate inv like in nc, u cant carry only some amount of kg, even if its more then a normal person could carry.
i prefer those inv full of backpack like in ao, even if i cant find a specific item again, btw engis r better at hunting than in missions,
it seems i m a hunter and collector.

Depends on the tastes of the guy playing mate, depends on the tastes....

Im having a damn blast in Splinter Cell, a agonizing blast, but a great time at the most. The Stealth kicks ass, same with the realsim, I do think they could outfit me with a lot more ammo, but its the point of the game.

I like realism FPS and sometimes Unrealism. I played UT2k3 and BF1942 a hell of a lot less than CS, dod, or Flashpoint, and enjoyed the more realistic games more. Why? Im not sure, I guess i mostly love the tactics and teamwork rather than smashing stuff with a Rocket launcher or a snot gun, but thats satisfying as well.

Just my two cents here.

I tried to quit a while ago, was "offically" out of the game and then I began to miss everyone that I loved to harass, like Metalynx (who is probably thanking a divinitiy or two that we live across the globe from each other) and here I am.

Sure, there is plenty of games out there that has its loyal share of fans, but take note that AO is the only game that has a very active social life. And dedicated people trying their very best to actually entertain their fellow players. I am going to going to be nice for a year if you actually find that in any other game.
Be afraid of the shadows.. I lurk there.

Mummu where do you get:
i just jump on when someone says cs is realistic, cause in real bullets CAN'T do 90° turne right behind the barrel.

I have been playing CS since late Beta 4... Rizza use to be my lil'buddy.

Anyhoo I have never seen anything your talking about.

As far as realism, Operation Flashpoint and Ghost Recon go over kill in the realism department, and lose the FPS in favor of a heavily objective oriented, and woefully slow paced game. Pretty graphics, bad gameplay.

CS offers enough realism to be consistent with most physics without giving up FPS feel and play ability.

As for ownage... bring it ;)

Yeah, sept Flashpoint can sometimes work action oriented in the OPF: Resistance Urban fights with Hinds working over you.

Still CS is the best Mix of Realism and Fun. DOD was like it untill it notched up realsim and now its sometimes not as much fun.

Guys who use cover and fire the AK-47 in controlled, small bursts of 1-3 will work a lot better than some fu*ked up yahoo running around with a M3.

Find a good server, and you'll see guys communicating, shooting, moving from cover to cover, and having Snipers cover fire.

I just got back from a 4 hour TFC session. The whole server went crowbar-crazy in the middle, except a few stupid snipers who insisted on sniping still. So I rocket jumped onto their nest, and crowbared the whole lot of them. That shit was hilarious.

Things like that will NOT happen in a CS server.

Though, even in CS I could use my custom sprays...easily the best thing about Halflife.

Yes, the blue area is transparent. So if you see that on a wall, and someone named "Tir McDohl" is playing, that's me.

Genma is the father I never had. I will one day become Genma.

Can't say that I'd want to be Ranma. I'd never leave the house. At least as a sign-wielding panda I could socialize.

sorry about my recent disappearance, me and a few friends started an Outfit (org) in Planetside. Alot of people are making outfits before the game comes out, the forums are filled with ads. It may take a little while longer, but you should expect me to pop in every once in a while.

Peace, and good luck all!

I don't like FPS for an excellent reason. I'm terrible with them. Hell I'm terrible with pvp in ANY game unless it's the pen and paper variety.

Guess that's why I like roleplaying so much. At least it's something I CAN do.

FPS are great, but uber-realism is not really a good thing.. I love CS most of the time, but I usually prefer Firearms (www.firearmsmod.com) as a Half-life mod. Mainly because it's more team-oriented in my opinon.. and you get to play with neat things like claymore mines and mortars. While having a set number of team lives that you subtract from each time you die is somewhat unrealistic in that when you die you come back, it does simulate reinforcements. Why an army of 200 people would send them in 10 at a time is beyond me though. lol

One really realistic thing I love about Firearms is that if you have a clip that holds 32 rounds and you fire 29 of them and switch clips, eventually you'll come around to a clip with three bullets and call yourself foul names for not just firing those last three off and getting a new clip from an ammo box. lol

I don't want pure-realism, CS and Firearms are as real as I want it. :P

Oh yeah, on another topic here... I think SWG will be good for the AO community. Like Dynahmite said, it will have a lot of the uB3r l33t people leave AO for SWG... improving the average maturity level of the players of AO! Woohoo! lol
