Help!! Out of ideas!!

Postby Prymalrage » Wed Nov 25, 2009 3:12 pm

I am having a strange issue with one of my toons. Everything appears washed out and light. I have so far compared all of my settings with toons on the same account (the game looks normal when on them) and on a froob account. I have unchecked everything and lowered all slide bares, logged out, back on, reset all, logged out and back on, no changes. I am at a loss as to what to look for now. It seems like something that affects just that toon rather than a global setting that affects the account, but I am not sure what to look for. Anyone have any suggestions before I log a point with Funcom?

Have you tried taking everything off and then putting it back on? Any chance it's a lighting source that's causing the washed out look (like the newbie back light)?

Other than that, I have no idea what might be causing it. That's bizarre.
I may be retired, but I'm GridStream for life.

Did you try playing this toon on another computer?

The only other thing I can think of (besides what has already been said above) is that you toyed around with the "fog mode" (environment - fog & ground), because during Halloween I have once turned the fog down on one toon because I couldn't see anything, logged out, and then when I logged back in all changes I made to the fog mode had no effect (and everything was really bright). I solved this problem by setting fog back to autodetect and re-log, though.

I knew it would turn out to be something easy I was over looking!! Glad I asked before becoming one of those ARK commercials...lol. It was the sensor. I must have put it on to twink something and then forgot about it. Thanks!!!

Nah, that one's not commercial worthy. I've done that. Although, in my own defense, I hadn't played the character with the goggles in well over a year and I never noticed them having any effect at all when I first got them. It was this time of year, too. I remember not being able to see anything anyway while the Halloween fog was out, and then when it was replaced with various kinds of "normal" weather like sandstorms and rain clouds, that one character still couldn't see a thing.

An ARK, a GM, and Tech Support had no idea what could be causing my problem. It's possible that I might have confused the issue by throwing in too much extraneous information. Finally, I emailed Tech Support some screenshots of the blind alt and another one together, looking at three different locations.

The Goggles were in the inventory panel open on those screenshots.
Do not try to think outside the box, for that is impossible. Simply realize the truth; there is no box.
