hehe yeah Das, AC is not the style "hide in the shadows and kill" like you love usualy (and I, too) it's different than silent assassins games like Hitman (played as silent assassin I mean, not serial killer) or Splinter Cell or Thief but that's especialy the point of the game that I loved. That changed a bit from other games and this one was more like a Prince of Persia but assassin version. (and I'm a PoP fan so.. heh)
But AC is not a game only about kill & run or fight: during the special assassin mission (bosses) you have different ways to acomplish your mission.
The hided blade is made to kill your target in one hit if you think a little about a way to make it correctly. You can run in the streets and kill all the guards in a long fight and then the boss will run, then you'll just have to catch him by behind or even in front and jump on his neck with the hided-blade thingy like a crazy mofo

=> instant kill.
But if you wait a little you'll see you can make a walk on the roofs without be see at all and avoid the guards and still instant-kill the target. ^^ Or pray like a monk near a guard and wait your target with patience then once this one is dead you leave. And there again different ways to leave. Or you walk/run in the streets or on the roofs or you can hide in the special places while the guards are around.
Well... all that to say - in opposite to a lot of people who said AC was just a game about killing without thinking- there is plenty of ways to play that game and it can be a lot of fun to finish all the bosses mishes in every possible ways even if some of them are creepy hard it's the challenge.
Now about AC 2 I'm kinda afraid cause I'm not sure if I'll be able to play that game with my actual computer... it was already slow at times with the first one (not at maximum effects, worked good with low effects though) so err... I'm not sure but I hope I will not be too disapointed
