Can you hear the tone?

Postby Xtrophic » Fri Jul 17, 2009 10:31 pm

Time to check how sensitive your ears are to picking high frequence sounds up ! :)

I heard it, but does it matter if I had to turn up the volume on my headset? Not like full blast or anything.

I think I heard it. I don't think my speakers appreciated making that sound any more than I enjoyed hearing it. What I heard could have been the speakers crying. Or some other secondary resonance vibration.

If that's the frequency I was supposed to lose access to by going to too many rock concerts in my 20's, I think I need to go to more concerts.

I heard it...its like a more annoying version of what a lot of the older TVs make.

I heard it and it feels like a thousand needles piercing through the back of my head. I guess that sound could make dogs either break down howling or go aggro randomly.
But I'm glad metal didn't destroy my hearing...

Well yeah I heard it but I'm not sure to understand... I mean a bit disappointed I thought you had a waves of sounds to listen after you clicked on I heard it or I didn't. So that's all? Just one sound?

I'd like to get a ear test like I used to do when young at medical check up when I was at school. You had to place headphones and raise your left or right hand depending if you was hearing the little *beep* at right or left ear or nothing if you was not able to hear. And it was very lower than that sound and more like a very low *beep* instead of a buzz mustiqo or whatever it's called. 8)

I could hear the tone but at my age I really shouldn't have been able to. I think this is because my speaks don't reproduce the sound properly.

I could hear through regular speakers and headphones, but with headphones only when volume was at max.

You do realize what this means don't you?

It means that GSP has a lot of work to do on destroying our ears!

Mynka and I both just heard it very very briefly before turning the volume all the way down. It's still piercing my brain, and i have no jewelry to stick through it!

Earrings for the frontal lobe. Cortex studs. I like that idea. In a purely theoretical way. Just the idea of cerebral jewelry is enough cerebral jewelry for me, thanks.

Maybe in a decade or three when brain mods are commercially available for direct cyber-neural interface.

Until then, could you please just step away from the drill?

Ugh... that was worse than brain piercing at least that would be fashionable! lol It was more like burning a single pathway from one side of my head to the other ... but yeah I heard it even without my sound being maxed out.

I heard it ok (hearing tests indicate it's the lower end of the spectrum I'm suffering slightly on... a symptom of ipod volume being too loud my audiologist tells me).

It's irritating, but not to the level that everyone else seems to be bothered by it!

Yes, very similar, just waaay more annoying. Most tube televisions drive me nuts too. It's like someone stabbing the back of my grey matter with a pencil.
