How To Build Your Own PC Rig WOOHOO!!

Postby Tarryk » Wed May 27, 2009 1:31 am

This was about the funniest damn thing I ever read...

http://www.somethingawful.com/d/guides/ ... php?page=1

By paragraph two I was laughing so hard I was crying, and it just got funnier from there. Probably not the same humor value for everyone, but what can ya do. ;)

rofl

I love the bit describing your computer as throwing up every time you open my documents
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Awesome!
And I didn't even know there's a Leprechaun option in BIOS :D
(But I doubt I'd set it to 'Back 2 tha Hood' as recommended)

/me wonders how many people recognized the typical BIOS menu picture.

I bet at least Tarryk did, or maybe not, some people just blocked that part of the game out after making the one run that required you to enter the matrix.

When AoC launched and there were 8,000 threads on the forums about how to optimize your computer for the game, I think this bit of advice was distinctly absent:

Extreme case fans and spinning shit with neon lights: If you lack sufficient funds to purchase these items, you may obtain the same results by using a steak knife to carve the phrase "I AM A GIGANTIC DOUCHEBAG" into the side of your case.

Although I'm quite sure I did read this:

If you are building a gaming computer, you should choose a $600 case with neon lights and tit skulls everywhere, so you can impress the type of person who enjoys shoving retarded amounts of money into the toilet.

/hand

Still have it, if the old Commodore 64 5 1/4" floppies haven't completely degraded by now. I have the decoder wheel, even. Somewhere. I wonder if the C128 still turns on....

Problem with nostalgia is, remembering it as a fun game from way back when is good, but going back and looking at it again after playing Tron 2.0 and such, it just loses something. Still I wish there were more new games like that. Cyberpunk is, indeed, FTW.
Do not try to think outside the box, for that is impossible. Simply realize the truth; there is no box.

you kidding? Running the matrix was the only reason to play that game. Shadowrun ftw, I still have it one-click ready on my Sega emulator. ;)
