NASA Poll....

Postby Cambo » Thu Feb 26, 2009 2:25 pm

NASA are running a poll to find a name for the next big lump of metal to be attached to the International Space Station;

I guess many of the folks here will be going for the current leading name: Serenity :)

Heehee, I must admit, when I first saw the poll (on Slashdot), I did think of you, Tarryk :)

Don't forget, you can vote once a day....

And if you have access from more than one PC and/or OS, you can vote on each of them....

So, this PC has Linux and WinXP, my EeePC has Linux, the PC in the living room has Linux and WinXP, the PC upstairs has Linux and WinXP....

I'm glad serenity is doing well...However I doubt its all to do with firefly as serenity means a couple of different things to a couple of different people :)
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Hehe! This was on Colbert Report a few days ago, he was upset that a "toilet/WC" product was so popular and "beating" his name :P

And the poll has been closed... The winning name:

Colbert.

As in Stephen Colbert of the Colbert Report

Yea, just read that this morning. Since NASA has the "final say" in the actual naming of the new room/addition, I wonder if they'll stick with Colbert or not.

I thought that colbert was the number one suggestion, but in the actual counted vote, serenity won

Uhm... No they didn't.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29841715/

Colbert clobbered Serenity by 40,000 votes by end of counting.

It's just because Colbert said something. Serenity would have won otherwise.

Serenity > Colbert. Sorry fans. ;)

I'll believe it when I see the NASA press release, which so far I haven't, all I have seen is a lot of hearsay...
