I feel like a zookeeper...

Postby Lauri » Thu Feb 19, 2009 12:33 am

Sometimes! I do!

I decided I needed to finally adopt the albino snake I'd always wanted. Nothing big and nasty(although I do love boas), just a nice corn snake. He's about 7 months old and is a Motley Butter; he'll be less orange and more yellow when he's an adult, likely.

Oh hai.

See muh motley pattern?

Lauri - I never thought I would say this about a snake, but he's adorable. :)

How big will he get?

Hee! That was the first thing I said when I got him. They are oddly cute as babies!

They get anywhere from 4-6 feet long generally.

grats on the snake, I guess. lol

Not a big fan of snakes myself, although my Dad loved to collect, study for a short while, and then release all sorts of snakes. I'm fine with them, if they remain in their terrarium. lol

Cool snake...Snakes scare me a little but most of the ones around here are fine as long as you don't harass them.

Haha, awesome, Jeni. Yay Reptiles!

We rarely see snakes just roaming around here, thank goodness. Occasional copperhead or black rat snake.

Main snake we get around here is the brown snake its dangerous but only if your harassing it or standing between it and its hole. The other thing is it doesn't have long teeth so even wearing jeans is enough stop it biting your legs.

That's a very cool looking snake. I've always been interested in snakes and lizards myself. I had a skink lizard as a pet when I was a kid, and I do agree that reptiles can be quite adorable in their own way.
