Motown Records turns 50 today

Fifty years ago on this day. Using an $800 loan from his family. Song writer Berry Gordy turned music producer and founded Tamla Records. The company would later be incorporated as Motown Records. Home of the "Motown Sound" and one of the most famous record labels ever.

Truly a date to remember in musical history. So many great artists would not have gotten their start if not for Motown Records. The impact and influence those artists had on music as a whole is immeasurable.
