The First Lady Of Star Trek Passes Away

Postby Neoagent » Fri Dec 19, 2008 1:46 pm

Source here as well as half the internet as of this posting probably..

"Majel Barrett Roddenberry, the most ubiquitous actor in Star Trek, died today at age 76. The wife of Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, she also provided the computer voices on every version of Trek. And she played three pivotal characters: Number One in the pilot, Nurse Chapel in the original series, and Lwaxana Troi in TNG and DS9. She was providing the computer voices for the new Trek movie, and it's not clear if she had finished recording them."

Extra prayers from me (Neoagent, not the article writer) go out to Eugene and family,
Your mom will be greatly missed just as she was admired by so many.
Scotty.. one more to beam up Sir, and god speed Majel!

Is it me or does there seem to be a large number of famous people dying off at the moment...sad to see her go.

I loved her as Lwaxana Troi, never watched the original series though. She will always be remembered as "Computer" and "Ms. Troi"

I loved her as Lwaxana Troi, and I never realized she was Nurse Chapel as well. And I will miss her as "Computer". Come to think of it, the first Start Trek episode I ever saw had her in it (not just as Computer :P).

She will be greatly missed.
