Just a Plan for Lazy or even busy cooks.

Hi all I do not know if its just me or if everyone finds it hard to take time to cook really yummy meals. I have devised a whole new take on meal Prep these days and figured I would share. So here goes On Sat. I do my shopping and meal planing for the week. Since it is only Tyg and I and two or three nights it is just me for dinner..I find I hate to cook anymore.so

I buy a roast a few Pkgs. of chicken breast, a small boneless ham. I come home from the store and cook all the meats...yep turn on the oven season and bake it all... when it is done I portion into ziplocks, I boil a pot of red skined potatoes, a bag of carrots and put those into ziplocks, Now all I have to do is slice it add gravy open a can or two of veggies or steam some and I have excellent meals all week long. This works well for me and gives me lots of choices, in between the week I may make a big pot of stew or chili because I love both in the winter months. trust me heat up the roast beef with the potato a few carrots and a can of beef gravy and it is ohhh so good and fast and you only dirtied one pan.

I use a slightly different approach but then I am only cooking for me
I have a deal with the Meat Department at the local grocery, they fix up about 15lbs of meat Beef, Pork, and either fish or Chicken in 1/2lb (approx 8oz) cuts. I have them pre-season and package them individually. I can pick up a month's worth of meat in one shot, pop the whole works into the freezer. Then it is as simple as putting each day's cut of meat in the fridge in the morning when I get first cup of coffee. *smiles* around dinner time I pop it into a pan with a bit of olive oil and eat it while dancing at a party.
