AO was my first mmo, others seems too dumbed down by comparison

and let's face it, AO is cyberpunk and cyberpunk owns me >.<

My first serious go with a MMO was after I had gotten DSL and was in Beta for Lineage II. Left that one when it became impossible to leave town without dying 6 steps later without seeing who had just hit me *laughs* (that was about the beginning of Cronicle 3).

Heh. The Realm Online. Original Owner: Sierra, Owner after thatL Codemasters(the name lies), Owner after that: Norsemen Games, I guess the viking helmets caught on. Can't remember if I played Runescape or Realm first. But first "graphical" game was Asheron's Call 2(I miss it, dearly.) But, AO is starting to fill the hole in my heart that AC2 left, which is good, I guess. Honestly, I'm starting to think I sound nerdy. As long as I don't start ranting about yugioh or pokemon, we're good. Oops, already mentioned them, better shut up now.

Mechwarrior 3025 was my first MMO. It had a short life, sadly, and didn't get out of Beta. After that came Earth & Beyond (Curse EA for pulling the plug!!!), Lineage 2 and then AO. Right now: None. Betatesting a few games that are promising.

I almost tried Lineage 2, but then one of my relatives told me to try an Agent on AO first, so I did, I gotta say, IMO, they're fun to play.

On a different note, what games are you beta testing?

My first MMO was AO, I even beta tested it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back before it was released. After that I briefly tried Lineage 2, EVE, EQ2, D&D Online, WoW, and I suppose Dungeon Runners counts as well.

Well, "first played" in that I was introduced to the world of MMOs was Everquest. I didn't have an account, nor did I ever pick one up. But I played it for a little while, and enjoyed it. I both Feared and appriciated its addicting properties.

But the first MMO I've held an account for? Anarchy Online. :) Hells yeah, Cyberpunk all the way.

Well, if you're tossing MUDs it there my first experience was mucking around with a really old version of zMUD and helping build the Eternity of Discord (Wheel of Time based) MUD. That eventually fell apart but it was fun while it lasted.

*whispers* Runescape

AO's been the first I actually enjoyed, though. In the two years since being introduced to mmos, I've toyed with EQ and WoW, but (in addition to the game itself kicking ass) I was just blown away by the community aspect of AO.

Planetside was awesome when it started, then they started getting the tactical nerf-bat out along with the expansion that all but killed the game for those of us who weren't willing to buy it. If they were to re-release the original on a separate server, I might come back to it. :P

Just as many before, Runescape was my first real one. Tis quite fun to log on every year or so to see whats change...the people never change though (all rude youngin's).

If you count Neopets as a MMO, then i did play that a bit before.

<3

It was soooo fun, back in the day.

Rolling around as VC with the Devil Dogs, and having huge 100+ man raids. I remember playing as a Vanu once, and you'd look up at the sky and see dozens on dozens of drop pods. It was so crazy =]

Kingdom of Drakkar. It's still around www.kingdomofdrakkar.com. Yes those are the graphics they've choosen to stick with, also they have been recently "upgraded" if you look around on some of the fan sites you can see some of the old artwork.

Ultima Online and The Fourth Coming, I think UO was first, can't remember the timeline but I played both from the beginning. Kept playing UO untill EA bought Origin and started changing it so much that it didn't even seem like the same game anymore.
