Anyone still rock Ogame?

yeah I hate waiting for resources, doing that in both right now.

At least in TW I can raid abandoned villages, got a bit to go in ogame til I can raid abandoned planets

Wasted a few deut to take a look at my sector. I'm right in the middle of an all-active sector. I have a feeling I'm going to get pummeled here.

ut oh, first time i played ogame i ended up stopping after i was made some guy's farm planet

Yeah that's the rough part. Once you get high enough, someone's going to start smacking you around. Thing is, the first time I played (was it u 15?), I lucked out and ended up in a quasi-dead sector and was just farming the inactive planets around me like crazy, I lasted for a long time on that one. I need to scope out the universes and see if I can get a score like that again.

See, I still remember last years Dragoncon. Even before getting on the plane. there was that wonderous moment of release when I put Ogame on vacation mode and... walked away.

There was a brief momebt when I came back when I felt guilty about my poor little abandonned planets, and considered checking in... then I remembered the whole thing of having to log on every 10 hours or so to manouveur fleets full of resources to prevents attacks and my heart hardened and I never looked back.

Which is why I refused to get dragged into the villages game, I smelled the same kind of ongoing maintenance.* Well, I kind of got clued in by the desperate way Lyk kept scrabbling to get online if he feared his village might be under attack. But I would have spotted it anyway. Once bitten, next time armed with a mace. Or something like that...

If I ever want to be the slave of something that demands my attention every couple of hours, I'll either wait until my phone batter gets old and worn down again, or visit a sperm bank!

(Yes, I will get suckered into the next one doing the rounds**. Yes, you can point and laugh and say "I told you so" when it happens... )

See I've told a load of people over the last few years that they have my permission to get "I told you so" inscribed on my gravestone (usually when I was about to embark on something reckless...)

You don't need to during the early stages, just once you get big enough to be a target... up until that point you're protected from most attacks so you can be more complacent.

Any special passwords, phrases, dances, initiation rites, skill/knowlegde levels, gifts of grandma's special baked white chocolate chip macadamia cookies required when applying to the GSP alliance?

While I can think of plenty of things to say given a 6000 character max, my mind immediately dulls when I try to apply.
