I expect that the last Harry Potter book will arrive at my home on Saturday. I plan on shutting myself off from all pop-culture until I have it read. I have not come this far to have this spoiled for me. So if you don't see me for a few days after Friday, you know why. :)

That is all. You may now resume ...whatever it is you people do. :P

I hope I'm not the only one on these forums who believes these books are poorly written (for adult audiences (Yes I know they're not meant for an adult audience)). I find them patronising, lacking in depth with very little character development.
There is no dark side to the book, it is as it is "Harry had a happy smile as he walked in the room." why? "Because he was happy". "Voldemort grinned evilly" why? "Because Voldemort is evil”. Its just very black and white is all I am saying, nevertheless a good childrens book.

Hang on I’ll let me go get my shield…*Cowers behind shield*

Your 17 and talking about adult audiances...and I've not seen anything in them as shallow as you have just mentioned...but your welcome to your opinion.

ummm. Are we talking about Harry Potter or Terry Pratchett's Diskworld because that last bit sounds an awful lot like Pratchett

I want my book but no idea when i will get it,
i owe my parents too much money after all my partying
last weekend and going out buying things >.<.

However i don't mind what book i read as long as it goes
down my love for fantasy so it can help me think of what
to draw for my art things next year and in my free time.

That is all *gets blanky ready for book readage*

Ok, it took me several hours between yesterday and today but I'm done, and it was excellent! The best written of the 7 books to be sure. At least in my opinion.

Ok, that said, mini-hijack ...

Because on the same day that Harry Potter arrived on my doorstep, so did one other thing. I finally got the Firefly DVDs. So I shall be spending some time over next week or so watching those, thus putting an end to probably the last surviving holdout from these forums who has never seen a single minute of the series. :)

enjoy. :)

first time i saw firely i ended up pulling an all-nighter. i was hooked instantly and had to watch the whole set (instead of catching an episode here and there, whenever work/school/other engagements permitted, as i'd planned).
