lalala i'm some noob in world of warcraft. Oh look its the main town. There sure are alot of people here. Hey whats that coming around the corner. HOLY FUCKING SHIT WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING! HOLY CRAP I DIED! I'M GOING TO GO YELL ON THE FORUMS NOW, AND THREATEN TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT!

Let me explain what is going on here. Most bosses like this are held safely inside instances, but there are a few bosses that are world spawns. What they do is drag them to a town(usually orgramar, horde capital or stromwind (alliance capital). I've only seen something like this first hand once, they brought down the server.

haha, that looks like quite the fun. Durring the time I was playing WoW someone dragged some dragon into Stormwind. Don't remember his name but he owned everyone, including me. Don't think they took the server down because of it. A GM showed up and put an end to it.

that kinda stuff is crazy...I remember playing a free shard on AO that did stuff like that...we would be doing our own thing and suddenly an alert would go out that a city was under attack...you'd race/teleport there, and every street would literally be packed with mobs...sometimes one specific type, sometimes just random mobs...regardless it was always fun cuz it was the most cooperation you'd ever really see..even mortal enemies would be fighting back to back. Anyways, yeah, something like that in AO could be fun...I'm thinking that's what the LE expansion is gonna bring...monumental, epic battles....

um... training mobs to a populated area in AO? like taking a 100+ dyna to ICC room to watch the ICC guards run like headless chickens or training all the dynas in the greater omni forest over near the lowbie entrance of the zone or luring best in brass to the omni sub or training sandwoms and elmer to borg camping omni twink power levelers that call you a F-ing clammer when you ask them to stop doing the KS? your right that never happens in AO, and when is doesn't you often get to meet an ARK when someone claims something like that happened and that it was your fault XD.

evil traanse, meet evil copper >:)

That's why it needs to be something ARK or admin sponsored....where they can tweak the settings and get rid of the respawn negative effects for that area for the duration of the battle so people can hop right back into the fray if they get taken out. I know similar stuff like that happens when towers and cities come under attack, but I'd like to see stuff that happens that causes everyone to forgo their grudges and fight side by side to overcome a mutual enemy.

forgive me if anything like this does/has happened. I'm pretty new to the game so I don't know a lot of what has happened.

That usually happens, next time an alien invasion happens ina neutral or easily accessable location you will see clan and omni together fighting even in the same team group, hell I was in a team in OA durring an attack with one omni in the group... an omni fighting aliens in old athens! And while it may not be in a majorly populated area time to time arks go on little adventures with whom ever is curious enough to follow a greenie around town for a while. just two or three weeks ago i found one wandering around Athens and followed it through neutral and well I didnt follow but met up with it on the other side of an omni area where it led us to an outpost in nowhere to fight an alien recon group.

If that is not enough for you remember that this is AO your playing and not WoW, if j00 w4nt fari3z n dr4g0nz ANARCHY is not for you. In fantasy its easy to say poof a dragon appears in a cloud of mystic blue smoke just ahead of your party... the dragon says "Dost thou have in thy possession a chalice of perpetual thirst?" and not have to have a background to why there would be a dragon in your path. In sci-fi you kinda need the scientific reasoning behind why something is the way it is. (arks are an exception to that rule "/me dissapears in a whirling cloud of nanobots and bright light" :P

point is each game has its own style, the moment a game gives up its own originality in favor to mimic another game is the time that game ceases to be fun and becomes a knockoff of an original and sold in the heap bin at $4.99.

Nah, they aren't an ecception. ARKs have a heavy connection with the notum which is why it disrupts the notum field when they are given thier powers. ;)

pure coincidence I say! it just so happens that while the arks are out on ark island getting their new skills, that the nanomages are out in a notum field somewhere having an orgy that causses the disruptions. ps dont ask me how I know that... the memory of that image is a painful thing to recall what with that mass of grey squirming around and grunting... *shivers and gags*
