Top Tracks/Requests

Postby Cowtipper » Fri Jul 23, 2004 1:36 pm

I know requests are fed through Gridbot, but has anyone thought of maybe keeping track of the top requests? That'd be interesting in reporting data on listeners' interests, etc.

Most of my favorite songs are techno/trance related :-/

The top one would have to be Sunscreem vs. Push - Please Save Me. I don't hear it much around here though, although I have only been listening for about three weeks now.

Just curious. What's your favorite tunes? Disregard genre limitations and just post what makes your head nod uncontrollably to the beat, or makes you contort your hands for the air guitar to play along with the awesome rifts.

We did have a "top ten" at one point, maybe that'll crop up again. :)

Me? A couple of my favorite tunes these days are Probot - The Warlock and Type O Negative - I Don't Wanna Be Me.

The technical ability for a automatic one is there actualy.
And the features needed to do it already exist and is in use.
It's just the final step of going thru it all and sorting/extracting/comparing to get results that is lacking.

(Everything is logged in one way or another in Gridbot, connection/errors/disconnects and requests, and ALL tells sent to Gridbot are also logged for those that wasn't aware of this)

Maybe ask Xtrophic (he'll prolly peek his head in this thread soon :)
and he'll comment on this possibility!

If someone is willing to get me the raw data I am willing to comple it.

I think the top ones are going to end up being the spoofs like Epecine - Caterwal, Lords of Acid - Pussy, etc. But I would be really curious to find out. :-)

Do I even have to post my fav' tune?...
Or have we really gotten so many newcommers that it could justify me writing it again on the foroums?... I'm under the impression my quota has been used up a long time ago when it comes to commercialising and spamming band names! ^^

That aside, I think Prim's right... Top ones will prolly be spoofs, as all can agree to like them...

Well, seeing as the spoofs are in effect, spoofs, tracks like that could be excluded ;)

but theyre funny! cowtipper's idea works great. just skip the spoofs and go right to the next song on the list.
These are the moments we'll remember for the rest of our restless lives.
