Hmmm... might be worth checking out some of the DIY steampunk sites - seen various ones with guides to building chunky metal goggles. They're probably going too far the other way and too chunky and strappy, but you might be able to get enough ideas to design your own glasses... particularly if you can get hold of something like this and use the lenses.

That is definitely one of my favs too. Just look at my hand placement in the picture and you would know why! haha I had SO much fun this DragonCon. I'm already looking forward to the next one.
