Thought One: I have a child who will be 14 in a few months time and the very idea of him playing this game scares the holy bejeezus out of me.

Thought Two: Holy crap!! I am old enough to be Tacz's mother!!

When i turn 18, i hope to get a little more respect.

And with age doesn't come respect..

I only respect those who've earned it, and can find a great many old farts who I couldn't care less if they rolled over and croaked. Same way I can find many people younger than me that I respect greatly.

I dont seem to be getting any from anyone, sometimes, and it pisses me off...

But that's just me.

It used to be that a young man would turn 18 and would recieve one of the following, depending on his family's class and financial status:

* A car
* A carton of smokes
* A hooker
* A job

No lava or volcanoes spewing menstrual blood into the sky in the shape of Avril Lavine's face or anything like that. And respect? That never came in conjunction with a birthday, only in the wake of meritous words and actions and then only in the right circles. Girls? Even we women can't predict when you'll find one that fancies you as much as you fancy her. Some guys get them at 14, others wait till they're old enough to retire.

Dunno how they do things these days, since I swore off normal people decades ago.

Make that two. If I'm old enough to have graduated with or before your mom, I'm not going to look at you and think "hey, I'd bone that." I'm more likely to be thinking "wtf??? where did the last 20 years go? Damn... "

I've been respected my entire life because I've pretty much always proved myself worthy of respect by my friends, teachers, family, coworkers... *shrug*

If pretty much everyone in your life disrespects you, chances are you did something to deserve it at one point or another.
