Alot of the guys I used to play airsoft with are in Iraq now. God help them make it through this.
Did anyone hear about the southern baptist missionary who was killed in Iraq? I mean, really, is ANYONE surprised? Its horrible and all, but damn, thats insult to injury, and is throwing reasons to the crazy terrorists out there. Geeze.

Those are some great pics

to often I think everyone gets caught up in there own problems and worries, and to often forget the effort, pride and courage of the soldiers that are fighting, regardless of what they are fighting for...................they are risking everything for a dream, a hope, sometimes we all need to be reminded thanks Rivi.

Irregardless of your stand on right or wrong, you can not, should not think poorly of the men and women who have and continue to risk their life and limb in the military. Not just the US military, but ANY military.
THEY do not make the wars. THEY are not responsible for the decisions of politicians. They are ordinary people, like you and I. They deserve our respect and our sympathy. If you feel you have any ethics, fairness or goodness in you, you will not criticize or condemn them. If you condemn them, you condemn yourself.
I just needed to say that.
And the soldier with the kitten was so touching I almost cried.
well...

Also though I am quite opposed to the current administration in most every way, I understand that in their own right they think they are doing the right thing. And our soldiers are barely more than pawns, and pawns don't really get to say what they are going to do - they have only but to do their jobs as best they can and with honor.

yeah, I agree with Boo.
I've got friends in the military, and friends of friends have friends in the miltary (one friend has lost a number of people dear to her in the Iraq invasion. With so few casualties so far, 3 of them have been closely linked to this friend of mine), and I don't condem them for their actions so much. (there is a limit of course to this leaniance of accepting ones orders, I belive.)
I know that the military and the men and women searving in it are all tools of a higher power. And I don't frown on the military for this, or their presence, however unwanted by all sides, in Iraq.
I frown on the upper management and you'll notice my snide remarks are all directed at them.
These are touching pictures indeed.
