I remember Judy Garland doing this on the Wizard of Oz and liked it. No, I am old, but not old enough to have seen the original, but I do remember it from a kid and all the years after.

I know that Hendrix covered it, an it rocks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-hmypa3wuA
I did not know Clapton did, and it is really good as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KvtbZzx1xs

It is a shame though, I looked for a Stevie Ray Vaughn cover of it, but could not find one. I bet that would have been amazing.

Edit: And yes, I have heard Ray Charles's cover and that is fantastic as well. I was around when he did that :)

I typically use this thread to make people aware of new or lesser known bands/songs that people may not have heard of, but I think this is the best place to drop this

It feels very weird when she sings the ... I want to call them rap like? R&B? part... But yeah, I love the way she sings the rest of the song. It's almost... haunting

Nice find! We do have laced pants, but I like hers better. The oval instead of rectangles. And that top goes better with it than anything we have in TSW yet. Definitely need that top. She's pretty cute, too. I bet her outfit would even fit us in TSW.

Dita Von Teese recently posted on FB, etc., about a 12 track compilation she's releasing through "12 on 12" - featuring three songs sung by her. Some of it, specifically the Chuck Henry songs, don't seem to be available anywhere else, yet, but most of them are on YouTube now.

The compilation is called "Soundtrack for Seduction". Good V-Day stuff.

Side A:
1. “Lazy” Performed by Dita Von Teese
2. “Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall in Love)” Performed by Chuck Henry
3. “Strip Tease” Performed by Juliette Greco
4. “Anastasia/Dita’s Theme” Performed by Chuck Henry
5. “A Guy What Takes Him Time” Performed by Dita Von Teese and Chuck Henry
6. “Is That All There Is” Performed by Peggy Lee

Side B:
1. “Johnny & Mary” Performed by Bryan Ferry & Todd Terje
2. “Here She Comes Again” Performed by Royksopp
3. “I’ve Been Thinking” Performed by Handsome Boy Modeling School feat. Cat Power
4. “Too Much” Performed by Pale
5. “Girls and Boys” Performed by Monarchy featuring Dita Von Teese
6. “S’Cooled” Performed by Blood Orange
