Yeah, I think to most women it really doesn't matter. But usualy if your not sure if a woman is married or not I've always been told to use Ms. Personaly I think it should be standard to use Ms. instead since it can mean anything. In a world that women no longer have to stand in the sidelines while thier husbands take the credit for everything I don't think Mrs. and Miss is even needed any more. Does it really matter if the woman is married or not? In most cases it shouldn't these days so I'm all for just changing it all to Ms.

Miss seems odd to me at my age.... but I'm no longer a Mrs. either...... so yeah.... I'm all for doing away with everything but Ms. so there is no longer a need to offend anyone by accident. :P

I think a general Ms. is appropriate for anyone, for the sake of official areas like legal document and such. Personally I don't care what I'm called. I prefer "Your Liciousness" but it hasn't caught on yet. ;)

Seriously though, in my experience, any title for a female is going to generally associate her with assumptions of what type of male companionship she keeps. Miss means she can't get one, Mrs. means she has one and Ms. means she couldn't keep one. For a guy, Mr. is just a title of respect. No matter what females choose to be called, it will all end up about who's in (or not in) their pants.

Just my experience/thoughts/opines.

I know its going off topic a bit but I actually find it creepy being called Mr. Ryan. I tolerate it cuase in some cases its the norm. But I'd rather just be called my first name.
