In this weeks edition of "Friday with Means" He included one version of an Opifex female head they have been playing with.. New graphics are looking hawt!

Graphics look good, it has sort of depth comparing to the old face. But I hope that is not the final version of the opifex face in question. Fexes should have slightly humanoid looking features. And as someone mentioned in the comments, ears need to be more pointy. Would make a great solitus though.

Keep waiting, from the things that Means described.. sounds to me like at least another year before we see the upgrade

So far it's been a series of delays in releasing this upgrade and I am starting to doubt if it will ever come out. It started at D*con like 2 years ago when they said the new engine would be out around summer the following year. Then it was delayed, and delayed. And where are we now? Another vague answer about when it will be out.

I think Funcom needs to learn from previous experience. Some times it's more important of getting some things out before going through everything and perfecting everything. In the case of the AO engine upgrade it's a matter of fact that AO runs like crap on modern computers.

Yes, it's looks good. But then again, what does good looks matter if the engine keeps stalling. I have my doubts if we will ever see it

I am quietly optomistic....

7 years of code isn't something that any team can update in any short time... nice to know that the work is being done and progress is on the way. I am so looking forward to the day the full (TESTED) update is anounced

Same here. I hope they take all the time they need to get it as good as possible and don't rush it.
It is worth a few extra months to get it as bugfree as possible

"A good idea implemented is better than a great one left on the polishing wheel" I'm starting to think that way about this update do the basic stuff to change AO over to a new content then worry about making the opi's tits perkier

hmmm yeah... like blue said I hope you'll be able to "change" your face freely without paid millions (like in any other game where you can change at least your hairstyle without chirurgy) I mean graphic update is cool... but if chose your face toon at first and it become ugly for you it will be very wrong.

I have my mood where I'm kinda more negative than positive that's true but... I think the real thing that could be great it's to let the possibility to players to make their own face. Fallout 3, Oblivion looks like, where player decide exactly what they want.

But yeah... if my comment sounded negative you are not wrong, it does. and the preview doesn't help for me at all...

Guess, I am a odd ball, as long as I can do /shout /tell /me and use my dance macros I am pretty much happy for most part...no one likes lag we all hate crashes but all games have them to a point so I have heard.. I get more excited about a new wardrobe than a new face..and I just figure its best to get it right than piss people off more after all the wait to get it wrong and let it out too soon. Thanks Means for trying to keep us all in the loop and for pushing for improvements.
