Don't quite see what that has to do with anything, but regardless...
As for the movie not fitting the comic, yeah, that much is true. but I guess a skinny, muscly semi-naked heroine isn't what the world is looking for atm. That and that hair would be impossible to keep after all the shit she usually does in the cartoon.
I was never really a big fan of it. Granted, I might have been too young the first time I saw it, but even now I don't find it very appeasing. All I saw when I watched it was her die in all the episodes and people having random sex, and then being shot. And while I understand that this was apparently what set it appart at the time, I decided I couldn't be arsed after that. I never gave it another chance. Saw no reason to.
I know that back then that would be enough to make it unique, but since I didn't start watching it till a long time after it's release, there's just so much more out there that I find better. It strikes me as one of those things that are only cool if you consider when it was made. Kinda like Dark Crystal. Back then it was awesome! But today, I doubt many would like it.
Things like this live on because of what it once ment to us, not what it actually is now. Well, most of the time anyway. And with that in mind, I really must say I could never be arsed with this series... Still, I might watch the movie. Doubt it'll do anything for me tho. If it's brewed on the normal "HollyWood approved" plot lines, then it's all been seen and done before.
Evil government, lone hero, yada yada yada, what ever. Unless they stick to what the cartoon was, this will be no different from the rest of the "1984" cloned storylines, even if it is more violent.
I hope they stick to the story. While I didn't care much for it, at least it would set it appart, and thus, be a movie worth watching. If nothing else, then once.
And as for what you wrote Deca', I coulnd't agree more! I'm heading into animation myself, and I know fully well I wont end up doing what I really want, unless the market changes... Still... It's what I like, and I guess as is the case for you, even doing it half-baked, beats not doing it...
