Online Call of Cthulhu Game Anyone?

Hey all.

Concentric (my boyfriend) is looking to start an online tabletop gaming group. Would be done via Ventrilo most likely. Here's his post on another forum:

Concentric wrote:Well, I've been running the table top RPG Call of Cthulhu for perhaps a decade or so. My old gaming group has fallen apart, and after a few months, I'm finding that if I don't start telling some stories, my head is going to explode. So I figured I'd submit this to you all, as most of you seem to have the capacity for something cerebral like this.
Is anyone interested in playing in a Call of Cthulhu game that I would run through Skype or something similar? It wouldn't be free form, we'd be making actual characters and using dice rolls (probably simulated on some computer program so we can all see the results) for task resolution. I'd be running a modern game, probably under the Delta Green setting (yes, I'm one of the lucky people who secured the books for hisself). It would be a long term game, probably something we'd meet once a week for over the course of a couple months. Interested parties, don't PM me, say something here in the thread, so fence-sitters will know who all is thinking about trying it out. If you have no idea what Call of Cthulhu is, but beyond that the idea sounds good, let me know and I'll type up a description here. Or, you could check this out www.chaosium.com

Anyone interested?

I never liked Call as it is originally based in the 1920's and those years sucked technologically. I.e. I jump into the car and slam the gas! gm: you are speeding along at 2mph! The huge tentacle bug eyed monster catches up with you and eats you whole. you loose 947 insanity points!!!

Still the preposition of a rpg session over ventrilo or similar interests me to a high degree.

He (you) mentions a modern game under the Delta Green setting. Would that be modern as in modern game content or modern (updated) rules? I have been pondering about getting back to rpg gaming myself but I have so many plans in waiting that it just drowned.

So let him know that there are people out there who thinks the idea is just nice and dandy. Especially when sanity loss is abundant. (c) (r)

I still talk to god sometimes, I ask him if what I'm doing is right or wrong. I'm still waiting for an answer.

We are looking at modern as in setting in 2005 with nice cars and computers. :) We will be using 6.0 rules, so...erm...the modern rules too. Though to be honest, not a lot has changed drastically. At least not up front. :) Send me a PM and we'll hook up :)

I could do ANY day of the week after 11 PM EST. Which nights I would like to play are in this order of preference:

Sunday
Tuesday
Monday
Saturday

...And the rest are tied for least favorite (but still doable). In addition, I could play

Anytime Wednesday, preferably not too late at night.

Anytime Tuesday, though Wednesday would be better.

Anytime Monday, though I would vastly prefer any of the above.

Note once again that I am talking Eastern Time.
