New stream feedback

Just so you know, the new stream is working flawlessly for me through iTunes :) Even during a 20 or so person Hollow Island raid today (though, to be fair, I never really had problems raiding with Winamp either).

The switch couldn't have come at a better time for me, as I had just bought an iPod and was concerned Winamp would conflict with iTunes.

GSP rocks!

*edit* OH, and I forgot......I run a hardware firewall, and several software firewalls, and didn't need to use the Port 80 option either.

not for me unfortunatly.
its a rather weird behaviour though, seems like the new stream is more prone to bandwith shortcomings. with the live365 stream I ould reserve more bandwidth to downloads without it starting to buffer. is the new one sreaming with more kbps?

I'm not sure on the bandwidth question, it may use slightly more, but not by any noticable amount. It's still the same 64k Stereo stream that it was through live365 (although I have been told many times that it sounds as though the quality is better)

I'm not 100% positive, but shouldn't windows media player use the .pls file just fine?

Will have to get back to you about trying the port 80 thing here from work as I've not done it yet. At home though I still can get a few gaps in the stream sometimes when aparently others may not be getting them, but that might just be my connection as I have seen that just in my internet access too at times. Apart from that, one thing is that if I leave winamp running on the 'puter at night on the stream it's usually still there tuned in the next morning. Through the old Live365 thingee if I left it the night it was almost always disconnected. Just a nice thing if you are actually listening to it and don't have to rconnect as many times.
