Hm...I'm not really embarassed about anything I listen to. So, I really don't know. I mean some people might like to make fun of me because I happen to be obsessed with The Phantom of the Opera.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that Merkaba :) I love The Phantom of the Opera.

If you haven't heard it, listened to Iced Earth - Phantom of the Opera Ghost. Veld has it, I think you'll like it :)

I know you were talking about the musical goofball. I adore the musical.

But Iced Earth has a good song that tells the story of it :) Very good song.

Mine is probably the Crash Test Dummies. I have all of their albums, I love their lyrics.

(even DJs have secret stashes of music they don't want anybody to know about)

Delerium. Although I don't know that it's much of a secret that I like it, it is awfully different from my usual stuff.
I've always been a fan of Sarah Mclachlan's voice.

I can't really subscribe to the "dirty little musical secret" theory. I've played Alizee, Pink, hell even Spears on my "metal" show before. Music is music. Some of it I like, some of it I don't, but none of it is based off what I think other people would like.

(opinion)
I'm a metalhead who can't freakin' STAND Slayer.

I'm a guy who always likes between 2 and 5 of the songs in the contemporary Top 40 list, and hates the rest.

I liked Bryan Adams title song for Costner's Robin Hood flick, when it first came out (I grew to loathe it, but I did like it at first).

I hate R&B "artists" who try to turn their voice in a wind instrument and rattle out 13 notes in a single syllable. That grates at my brain.

I love R&B artists who team up with a half-dozen other R&B artists to create an interwoven melody in which they play off each others voices. I hate the same group of people when one of them does the 13-notes-in-a-single-syllable thing while the rest are humming along.

Spears is catchy. Aguilera is catchy. J.Lo is not catchy. Pink is rarely catchy.

Disturbed is catchy. Nonpoint isn't catchy, but they're angry enough to force catchiness.

Doom metal (pitched-down vox a-la my "doom" scream) is boring, and totally faked anger, so it's not even close to catchy.

Rhapsody sucks, but I love to play them on my shows.

Tool rocks, but I absolutely HATE playing them on my shows.

Which reminds me, T man, you played a song ages ago that you mentioned that you'd thought you'd hate, but you bloody loved it. I think it was the first time you vented your "All music is good music if you just listen to it" theory.
The song was called something in the line of Intuition... or something. It was mega pop, but somehow I just haven't been able to shake her voice from my head in the split second she sang "My intui'ition" (I streched it, cus she did) But this is all I can remember. As is a well known fact, you can't get a song out of your head till you hear it, so I've been desperately trying to find this song for, well, like a year. I don't suppose there's a snowballs chance in hell you actually remember what song that was? ^^
My head needs silence...

Also, there are a few new artists out here in Australia that I'd rather bet some of you would like. Rather mellow, down to earh, but you're just in a good mood when you listen to them. I'll see if I can't find the names and list them... Till then, the best bands ever, are still (and quite indesputably, No! Don't bother arguing... If you do you're wrong, it's a waste of time! ^^):

Goldfinger
Less than Jake
Catch 22
Gorillaz
The Streets

You may now worship them! ^^
