I dont' know if it just me or is anyone tired of the cookie cutter AO sites run by a company or part of a larger network that covers multiple games. All the stuff is on there is on each of the other sites. Most of the "updates" are sometimes over a year old. I even saw a "AO site" talking about another game. Doesn't anyone run a fan site thats up to-date and does it for fun (not getting paid).

private fan sites, but there admins got bored of ao I think, so not much happening there.
try the ao wiki, its still in the startup phase, but maybe it will carry on until ao passes out of existence.

I do miss the old days a bit. AO Basher was always the best site, and I don't think any site has been as good since. But it's sorta OK in my eyes. Some of the older sites that gathered info may have stagnated, but are still great tools (anarcgtarcanum is still one of the best places to go for much tradeskilling info) There are the new sites that are devoted exclusively to SL & AI that are more recent examples of some of the best newer sites and there is a newish tradeskill site that has helped to take over where arcanum left off.
Use Vault & Startics as you can, but understand their limitations. Look quickly for anything good, then move on to the others.
