Upcoming Movie: Transporter 2

The movie "The Transporter" was one of those underrated greats in the action movie genre. Jason Statham is one of the better action heroes amongst the Reeves, Rocks, and Diesels of the world, but frequently ends up in movies not suited to his abilities as an actor, despite how much he shines in the roles he's given. "The Transporter" was supposed to be the breakout movie of his career, and in my opinion it should have succeeded, it was a fantastic movie, defined by moments that made me want to cheer him on when it came down to kick-butt time.

Well, it didn't do so hot in the public's eye, and it faded away fairly quickly. What I had no idea bout until yesterday, though, was that they made a second one, and it's out in September.

WOW. Catch the action clips in the latter half of the trailer. THAT is what an action movie should be. I've been growing tired of action movies lately, but this one just might rekindle the fire.

I bought the DvD because it was on the $5 table and it was a steal.

When I saw the trailer this past weekend I was totally hyped that this one I might get a chance to see on a big screen. (bigger than 52" that is)

Yeah I never saw The Transporter till I caught it on the cable box a few times, then a few more. I'd have to rate it roughly a B movie if only the basic lack of gian production values/talent besides Jason who at the time and pretty much still hasn't really made a name for himself in the big bad Hollywood world. No offense to his talent, but heck - Lindsay Lohan is a bigger star in movies atm than he is.

I saw the trailer for The Transporter 2 before 2 movies recently and it definately looks to kick serious ass! Luc Besson is backing this one with I'm sure enough cash to give it a much better chance than the first one(not sure if he was involved in the first as well). Back this guy in a movie with Bruce Willis or Tom Cruise action money and you're likely to have a hit action movie even stupid Americans will throng to. :)

And about all I could read in Foxy's post was "happy" and "pants" - that's enough for me
