12 hours of downtime starting last night.
2 minutes before it hits the 12 hour mark, Sillirion posts.
A further 8 hours is required to finish work.
20 hours of downtime?!?! But but but.. I need my AO Fix!!! >_<

Never know mate, they might be fixing all the nerfs 15.9 did accidentally.. ie the bugs, like the Keeper aura evilness... the evades for everyone... etc... though im gonna be shocked if OA is green when we get back on

If after this downtime I'll finally be able to make my leet pet say things (the command does nothing for me, bleh), they can paint Old Athen hot pink for all I care. The current color scheme is kinda depressing anyway.

Its meant to be depressing.. hehe
I say green cause they are meant to be changing OA soon, de-omni'ing it

There are no Evade bugs, as much as everyone likes to say there are.
Basically what happened was the new pathing code made mobs more accurate. They chase you better, so they're albe to hit better too.

I have the same outlook on it Jairyn.. i play a keeper so the only thing that i need to worry about is outlasting my foe... i've just heard so many fixers moaning about it, didnt know if it was a bug or not

I'm just flabberghasted at the folks freaking out about having one day of downtime on the AO boards. I really doubt the techs working on the servers WANT to be pulling a 20 hour workday!

Feel for the ARK forum people as well, they are gonna have to trawl through the forums to get rid of the spam when it calms down =/

I admire the kind of dedication that would have people pulling a 20-hour shift... granted it might just be a couple separate groups of techpeople taking turns, but even if that's the case I'm sure they're working hard. Kudos to Funcom.
Now, I will admit that I was looking forward to getting back into the game, but another 8ish hours isn't going to kill me. I slept all day (European with really messed up sleep cycle, whee) so I doubt I could fall asleep again, but I can always just find something else to keep me occupied; bitching and whining about it isn't going to solve anything, anyway. Besides, it's not like camping exarchs and the GOT in the temple is THAT exciting. I swear I turned like 20 exarchs into ex-exarchs yesterday without getting a single robe... ANYWAY, at least we've still got our favorite DJs, eh?
So with that said (not that I was making much sense or had a real point)... hmm. Maybe they should make some kind of 'Anarchy Offline' tabletop RPG. I'd play it. For now, though, I'll settle for some other game. Hmm. Been a while since I played RA2...

Yikes. Just read though that thread on the ao boards (though I'm sure another 20+ flame posts will be made while I type this)... people are some whiny *BEEP*s. Sheesh. What's wrong with these people?

Kinda sucked a bit. I'm lucky as living in the US I'm usually at work when they do patches, then I get home to find - [Need Patch], ok {Patch} & bingo all better, but here the whole night it was down. So I fiddled about doing other stuff. Checked later to find login success (course was too late for me to do anything, oh well)

Suddenly I don't feel like such a sucker.
If it makes you guys feel any better, SWG fanatics are feeling the EXACT SAME PAIN. LOL! It's been a full day now since they took down the servers to load the pub 17 patch and we're still going through frothing-at-the-mouth withdrawal waiting for the servers to come back up.
What IS it with MMO producers that they can't get devs who can code a working patch anymore?

I like when EQ2 was down for however long it was... many days. Was grateful that I just tried it a touch and then got out.
