What's up with this game? Anyone have it? I was roaming through wally world tonight and came across this box with freaking beautiful screenies. At the same time I've never heard of it. Mainly cause I don't read a lot on games coming up or what not.

Looking for a lil opinions if anyone's heard good/bad or has it and can give me a good run down on it.

No subscription fee, sweet. Good brownie points.

Anyone in the same boat as I am, head over to www.guildwars.com to see the sweet screenies. Not really sure how good the gameplay will be but has good potential for purdy culurz :P

The game is beautiful, extremely beautiful!!

Combat is a lot of fun, actually. And with that I'll say that GW is a perfect "Free", multiplayer game for dungeon crawlers. Quests, so far, for me, haven't echoed anything really epic - but they are fun. GW uses a lot of scripted events to pull you into the action, in quests. (I will say so far that's the weak point for me)

Add in instances that allow groups to not have to deal with griefers, then you've got a potentially really fun experience.

That's on top of Arena/PVP combat! If you're a PVPer, there's lots to enjoy, in my opinion. Though, be careful when going up against "Korea"(there are pvp "realms" that fight against each other based on location)... my god. :)

I have heard that a few people have left AO because of guild wars.

But I'm not to worried about it, as a few people left when SWG came out, and a few more left when WoW came out.

I even left when those games came out, and look at me... I can't stay left.

I'm waiting to get a better read on this game before possibly trying it out. Dungeon Lords is coming out May 5th, and I'm definitely interested in it...

Here is a run down of the two computers that I have at my disposal.

Currently my playlist is running and it is running off of a 600mhz CELRON processor with 320 MB of ran (one 256 chip andother 64 chip), a basic 2.1 soundblaster card, and two USB 1.1 ports and 2 USB 2 ports (through PCI) and a netgear WG311v2 wireless pci card. Oh yes, intergreated graphics card

MY main system is a... ohhh....
PIII-M 1ghz 512 MB system with a nivida 2 32 MB Card, and 56 GB of disk space. Oh yeah... and I'm at my systems max without having to try to go ahead and rip open the internals...

I've been told it's sort of like playing a mix between City of Heroes and Diablo.

I wasn't sure if I should get it or not, but GameStop offered free 3-day shipping and I caved. Should arrive Thursday or so. :D

Nex,

My system is pretty beefy, but let me explain something.

The game loads instantly on my system. EQ2, AO, Planetside, SWG:LS, any game I have ever played including Halflife 2, takes at least 30 seconds to a minute to load on this box. This game loads instantly, and the graphics are awesome and I have them maxed. You can customize the options quite a bit, and I doubt you'd have a problem on your main machine.
