Anyone got a spare $210k laying around?

My sister and bro-in-law just put a bid in on a new house. They weren't looking. Hadn't planned on buying this house at all. It just kind of fell into their laps and I have to admit it's a sweet deal. Now they need to sell their current home. I would LOVE to be able to buy them out. I have always loved that house and It's the perfect place for me and my kid (and I guess I'd let my boyfriend tag along if he wants  ). Only the thing is, I'm still stuck in a temp job, which isn't real conducive to taking out a mortgage. So you know if one of you has a spare $210k, I'd really appreciate it. I'd pay you back in pure honest Rubika credz. :)

Could you work out a plan with them to rent the property until you could get the job or money to purchase it? Seems you should have an advantage since you're related. :)

You would think wouldn't you? Yeah I wish. But the thing is they need to get 210k for their house or they can't afford the new one. As it happens, they were just about to sign a contract to have an addition put on to their home. But then this house happened along and so long as they get the 210 they will make out around the same cost wise and get a bigger, better, newer house. So sadly, it doesn't look like it's in the cards. :(

I know this feeling all too well, Valli. I'm sorry about the situation, but 210k is a bit pricey all around (I watched a house go for 80k the other day that I really wanted, but there's just no way).

Bummer.

Houses for 80k USD? yikeys.

I know where Im going to be looking in future then. You couldn't get a timeshare on someones garden shed for 80,000 USD in the uk, the prices are absolutely nuts.
