This morning my mom told me that she busted my son looking at pr0n on her computer yesterday. Ten minutes ago I set-up the AOL parental controls that my mom forgot to do when she gave him a screen name. Five minutes ago he brought home the girl he's been telling me he likes. She's downstairs right now getting a quick tour of the house. I'm up here trying to respect his space (so long as I can still hear them).

I'm not ready for my kid to grow up yet!!!

First rule: Don't panic. They're going to grow up whether you like it or not, best to keep the optimistic side of it, girl! (I seriously hope he wasn't "in trouble" for looking at pr0n...or if he was, it was for doing it on someone else's computer and nothing more...pr0n happens, as it were. much like shit.)

Remember referencing how someone else kept bringing up the worst case scenarios and it was making you nuts? Don't make me shake you.

Nah, he wasn't punished. I figured being busted by my mom was punishment enough. But I wouldn't have punished him anyway. I figured it was a matter of time. She talked to him and I'll have a talk with him. But he's not in any trouble, except, like you said, for using her computer to do it. Worse that that is that he quickly covered up by saying that his friend Anthony was the one who showed him the sites. So then he was in a spot of trouble for letting someone else use her computer. But that's all.

Anyway him and the girl are already gone. I'm calm. I wasn't thinking worse case so much the fact that I'm just not prepared for it. Also, if he has to go through puberty, can't he at least wait until we moved out of here? Yeah, I know that's too much to ask. But it would sure be easier. Anyway she's cute. She says to me "Hi, I'm Rebecca" It was all I could do to stop myself from saying, "Oh so you're the Becca that Mark has been talking so much about." - but I did stop myself.

Near worst case: uhm... Mom, what does child support mean?

With the sheer number of boys my sister brings home, my mom wasn't surprised when I brought a girl home

Once i start driving the minivan again, ill be able to bring home a pack of girls.... (yea right)
