Stupidity on Tax Day

Me = Dumb.

Legal and 100% safe, but dumb.

I'm working two jobs, but the second job only picked up late last year. So that's two W-2's this year.

Had I NOT filed my second job into the mix, I would be getting about 350 back in taxes.

Instead, it's 275, because I'm stupid and claimed an exempt during a late start in the year. AND I'm stupid because I shouldn't have filed for the second job at all and just took the 350 while it was there.

AND I'm stupid because I actually bothered to file state on a 0-dollar return, and hit yes to do it electronically which cost me an extra 8 bucks. So basically I lost 8 bucks to state....because I'm stupid.

Last night was not a good night to do taxes. It was one dumb trip-on-my-laces after another.

At least the plane ticket for my march vacation is paid for now.

Send them a bill, or tell them that unless they give you your 8 bucks back, you'll take your business elsewhere... or something. It could work.

It's a thought, but they're not accountable at all. I'm the one that hit yes after already seeing that it was a zero-dollar return. That and the fact that it's already been sent out and confirmed by the state. Just gotta eat this one. :)

You think that's bad... I worked for the same company all of last year and got 3 W-2s. From the same company. HR Block had a field day wondering about what that meant. (I got a separate W-2 for each raise that I got during the year- how messed up is that?)

The year before, I worked 4 part time jobs (3 at the same time), so my tax return was a mess. I think the guys at HR Block will be happy when I finally stop getting raises and working more than 2 jobs at a time so my taxes will be easier to figure out. :twisted:
