I just heard the following commercial on the radio:

This holiday season, give the gift that keeps on giving: give the gift of recycling.

WTF?

Yeah. Recycling bins. That's a good gift. I'm not saying recycling is a bad idea, but who in their right minds gives someone recycling bins for Christmas? For that matter I'm not sure if you actually get any actual bins. I think the gift is just to have this individual set up to have their recycling picked up once a week. How is that a gift?

I think quite possibly the only worse gift is having a star named after someone.

But surely, there are worse gift ideas out there. I know I can count on you to come up with some.

Haha..even worse..."Here sweety..I got you this shopping cart full of aluminum cans. If you recycle these maybe you'll earn enough nickels for a Burger King Toy or somethin fun!"

Okay the Recyling thing I can understand - to a point on both sides (I'm all for saving teh trees!).

but a worse gift? Well here's a worse gift - an IPOD. Now why is an IPOD a worse gift? Because someone is ONLY going to mug you for it! There for you have been given the gift of being mugged!!
