The Correlation between MMO Players and Sport Fans

So I have been thinking, and looking over all of the bitching that is "OMG< AO SUCKS!!!! I'M LEAVING!" and the "I'm sick of this AO is dying banter, STFU!!! I SILL LOVE AO!!! I'M SUCH A FANBOI/GURL" and I began to think about the correlation between people who play MMO's and people who are die hard sports fans... here's what I came up with:

1. Both known stats, numbers and really unique information about the game (that their team is playing or the one their team is playing) and more than willing to describe these stats to detail why their team or game is best suited to achieve.

2. Both drink beer... a lot, and like to admit when drunk.

3. Both have problems (if guy) meeting a woman (if a girl) being harrassed

4. Both think that their teams/game is the best thing since fresh air, regardless of obvious flaws, mistakes or holes in their team/game.

5. If the fan knows that their team/game sucks, they are more than willing to back them because they "love" them for some ungoddly reason.

6. Both get upset when their team/game is dissed, but usually the first to critizie changes made.

7. Both relate everything to their game or team. (i.e. Hey he looks like a nanomage! or Hey babe, is it possible that I can dribble up and down you and slam dunk in your basket?)

8. Both claim loyalty to their team/game and rarely root/play anything else even if their team is being shipped out of their city or their game is being shut down.

9. Both remember important dates that relate to their game/team more so than birthdays, anniversarries, or other important information that will lead you to sleeping on the couch.

10. Both signify that they have no life by obtaining skins, wallpapers, and other meaingless peices of computer gui art that relates to their game/team.

Thank you Nex' for pointing that out. We can all sleep peacefully at night now, assured that the mysteries of the world have all been accounted for... But, I think you forgot one...

11. Both have smart arses who like to come up with cleaver ways to display what's really wrong/odd/funny about it all.
