Read it! This is written BY a industry professional in the game industry.
if just more tought like him, creepy part is what he wrote is exactly what I've been thinking for years. Good to see I'm not alone!

I skimmed through it (cause I'm on sleeping pills and won't be awake much longer) and stopped at a few key points.

From what I can tell: I agree with that article 100%. The dude has hit the nail on the head with that one.

Too tired to read it, but I'm sure I'd agree with you Tarryk and Gridfan.
I'll read it later, but, I can't help but wonder... when a method is developed/made to prevent say a person or person(s) from doing something for security reason(s), isn't there always some "egghead" who comes up with a way to get around "that"!?

Those were much needed words of wisdom from and to the gaming world!
It would solve a lot of hassle if they did that! A LOT!

Nice Article indeed, I suggest if you haven't read it... That you do!

My dream is to make a game that people think is good enough to piriate. I mean I've played games on other people's computers that if they offered to give me a copy, I would just be all like ... um no thanks, I think I'll play minesweeper instead.

the author makes some very interesting points. imagine all the benefits from changing the way the public buys games.

for instance, the market sells CD-keys instead of completely boxed games (for $50 you buy the account key that you need to create an account and play the game). you take this key and go to the game's website, associate the key with your account, then download the game and play away. the world would benefit b/c no more resources would be wasted on making boxes, cases, manuals, CDs.

the only problem with this is that broadband will be a necessity. of course, in the future, i am sure such a thing could be implemented.
