AI: Things That Are Coming

From an E3 reviewer:

As we saw, the new-player houses (which players can commission on top of their starting player apartment and a Jobe apartment if they preordered the Shadowlands expansion pack) can be decked out with all sorts of new accoutrements, such as a deluxe swimming pool lined with deck chairs. According to director Marius Enge, players will also be able to add in such luxuries as a bar (run by a computer-controlled bartender), a dance floor, a computer-controlled disc jockey, and even your own private fight club for casual player-versus-player battles.

Oh.

My.

God.

Step into my game. For it is about to become GSP party paradise.

/me weeps tears of joy

That's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

/me notices no mention of new clothes and a closet to put them in.

Doesn't matter, that's still the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

Either that or I'm so tired I'm delirious. :) :P

Housing can be built around a central notum terminal, and once enough houses are erected, a player town will be created. Player towns can be explored by anyone, regardless of character affiliation or even whether or not you have the expansion pack, though you'll need it to enter buildings and to use shops. The largest and strongest player towns will be supplemented by a guild headquarters building, which can include an entrance to "the grid" (the game's high-speed player transportation), meeting rooms, trophy rooms, tactical planning rooms, and even a plastic surgery area where players can change their appearances. However, all housing will come under fire when aliens do attack.

I see a slight problem here. If any parties are done, they'd have to be outside unless the doors are going to be closed to those who don't have the expansion packs.

This will be interesting. Might be able to create a task force during GSP parties to make sure that the area remains clear and defended against alien attacks. There would be really cool fireworks while the Spineshank or Nightwish is blaring!

Yes, there will be a few parties held "outside" due to the lack of AI enabled folks. We had a similiar issue when SL was released. Hopefully the number of people with AI will trickle on up and, much like now with SL, we can make it a standard fare to party at our "town".

Which.. well.. that may take a while to get up and running, too.

Gods, I just can't wait!

Y'know, this is true. For once, we'll actually NEED bouncers on hand for the aliens.

As it is, Lauri is correct that it may take a while.

GSP doesn't go levelling and scrounging for cash, we're not going to have nearly enough creds for this by launch.

well i can assure you that all gsp djs will be welcome in the free souls city.
if we can find a lovely little place to build it.

too bad the unofficial bouncers imploded long ago with very few seeming to survive the wreck... synnastacia's spirit lives on and i'm certain that she has the will to fight any alien that dares interrupt a show, even if it means the death of any host body she assumes.
i am not sure of the other two spirits i have occasionally heard, josellynn and hoookie, but the rest of the group seems to be nonexistant...perhaps there was a comet pasing overhead one night and they now are on the alien ships above.
no matter. if i see anything leave those ships during a show, you have my blades, tK.

as for money you should have a big GSP city fundraising party, ask for donations to put toward the city. i'm sure anyone would be willing to pitch in some credits, i'm still trying to find a money tree to donate for contests (red yalm paint was expensive and i still haven't recovered from it) but i have a modest amount of cash and i will donate from the jobe armor funds i'm gathering to assist in a city which i'll never be able to afford on my own. :D

I'll be a general and stand back and command the army protecting GSP.

I'll need to go to the hot tub to come up with a strategy.
