Well everyone, I just recieved word from my parrents that our dog Emma will no longer be able to live with us due to our Neighbor's saying she barks to much. (Though perhaps I'm biassed but I don't think she does.)

So they have arranged with my Aunt in TX, to have little Emma live down there, and they have asked me (as I have no work right now, and they do) if I could take her down.

This is the way that mapquest tells me to go. My parrent's have said that the trip would need at least one hotel stay on the way down and one on the way back up. That would mean that over a four day period I would have driven for over 8 hours each day.

I'm thinking that perhaps I might make it into six days travel time, with some time spent in TX to visit with my Aunt if she's willing to put me up for a night or two.

What ever I do though, my parents say I'm going to need to find a hotel. I'm sort of hoping though, that there might be someone from the GSP comunity (Listener, DJ, or Forum Lurker) that might want to meet anouther AO player, and put him up for a night. I would be willing on paying for the room, it's just my hope that I might have a chance to meet some of the people from AO while I'm on this trip.

So if anyone looks at that map and sees that they aren't to much out of the way (I know I'm not going to follow that map perfectly anyways) and would be willing to let me spend the night, give me a yell it would be great to hear from you.

And if nobody is able to put me up for the night that's cool (I know I wouldn't likely be able to put anyone up for the night because I live with my parents and they might not be cool with a stranger spending the night). I will in that case try to make some reservations at a hotel, and let people know where I'll be at if they want to visit.

(Also keep in mind at least for the way down I'm going to have a little dog with me, she realy is nice... it's just the neighbors don't like her barking)

I might have been able to help out in St. Louis, but I don't see the dog thing working out with my two cats in our small apartment. :( Sorry man.

Hay I live in Florida so I'm sorry I can't help you d00der. If you made a big ass U turn in there to make your trip like a triangle across the US it would have been cool. I would have promised to not tip you as well. I would have written it down in a contract in blood.

Good luck. Someone hook this brother up. He doesn't have a head and needs a place to stay. Without the head he might be able to sleep on a loveseat.

hmm..you are going to be coming right through Tulsa, and Katie and I live right off of I-44......but might have the same problem as Veld, as we have 3 cats too and a not too big of a house. How big is the dog? and what kind? Would he be cat friendly? Its a possibility, let me know.

As I realy don't know what to do at this point in night, I looked at Yahoo's Map and checked what it would show me.

This is what it came up with

Oh and I understand about the cats. Emma's grown up around a cat, but that cat was used to living with a dog before hand. I know Emma wouldn't hurt your cats, but cats that don't know her might be a bit freaked out (Even though she's about the size of some cats).

Hay I might wave and say hi though on the way past if I have time though.

well... if you make a wrong turn onto I-94 and head east... well you could visit me, but it would probably be wise to turn around and head the other way.

Well this is just great. It seems that my Mom doesn't trust me to drive all along by my self, so there seems to be a very good chance she'll be riding with me and we'll be taking turns driving.

If this does happen, then this ruins all chances of me being able to stop and even say hi to anyone along the way. Not only that but as she has work, it also means that I won't be able to spend any time with my Aunt. It's going to be "Oh hi, heres the dog, well we have to go now."

(There is even talk of having her meet us half way... grumble grumble)

Well it looks like what's going to happen is that I'm going to get to ride down with my mom (YIPPY I CAN'T WAIT) and we are going to meet my Aunt half way. It's going to be a "Heya, here's the dog ok see you later" and a turn around and come home.

No time to visit with anyone (not even my aunt), and no nice road trip for me. (Oh I agree that it's a road trip still, but you try riding with my mom for an 16 hour round trip. Want to?)
