Yes, this whole post will be sarcastic.
As the God of this forum I do make up the rules which all you shall obide by. As the God I have the power to do what I please and feel like doing for the moment, even though it makes no sense, or that it is even fair to either one. As such you have to do what I tell you, when I tell you to do so, otherwise I may reveal my powers and do something horrible to you. So if you have something you want to bring up with God, I will listen to what you have to say and dismiss it right away, and forget about it, becasue that's what evil Gods do.

Ok, first things first. You may wonder why I am typing this right now, and the simple answer is all the drama over such pitiful subjects such as a darn forum signature.
Let me run you all by a few things, and give you something to consider:
1) Are you here to read the forums, or look at the signatures people have?
2) If your answer is "I am here to read what's written", then would you like to see a signature that occupies half a screen, so that after each post you have to scroll a long way?
3) If your answer to question #2 is "no" then you understand why I don't want a signature to occupy half the screen.
I created this forum as a place for people to express what they have on their minds in text form primarily, and with a focus on what they really have to say. With that in mind a small signature is always fine, but as a signature I expect only a few lines of text, or a smaller image. I haven't seen anyone in real life carrying around a huge stamp that takes up half a page as their signature, but most people just sign with your name as your signature. And relating to the real world I have used my common sense when looking at signatures. Some of the signatures that have been used on the board in the past have been questionable, and as such I have PMed people, and if they do not reply within a timely fashion I have removed their signature. That's the way I have always done it.
Up until this day I haven't had a single complain of my small signature policy. Why? Because it makes sense, I, nor anyone else, is here to look at signatures, we want to read what's written.
Without mentioning any names (although I am sure this is obvious to whom this is directed) who though their signature was a piece of art I would suggest this person to make a post with his/her image(signature) in the pictures forum and have people judge and leave comments on it there. Ask your self this, do you consider and treat your real life signature as a piece of art? If a form requires you to type your signature small, do you type it small or do you use up all the page and exceed the limits given?.
I can go on and on and on ..... how big signatures are BAD, but I think you all get my point by now.
My point with this post is that people here should comply with the rules (do we really have many rules?) we have on this forum. Some are written, others are just in the air, floating around as loose things. Up until this date I haven't used all the powers I possess, because I haven't felt the need to because you are all good people, and most of you adapt to the community here. And no, I won't use them this time either. Sure, I could ban some of you for the posts you have made, but I haven't done so, have I? I believe that we can work most things out in a civil matter, and will continue to believe so until it gets unpleasent to continue something in a civil tounge.
I haven't set up any forums rules that must be followed 110%, and should I have to point every DO's and DONT's? I could probably do that, but then this community would loose some of what's so great here - freedom to say more or less what's on your mind.
So when a moderator or administrator of this forum asks you something, they probably have a good reason for doing so. Listen to them, come to an arrangement and go on. We aren't here to make your life a bitch, we are here to make most of you happy. We can't make everyone happy because that's not how the world works, but we can atleast try to make the best of things.
