Perhaps this post will find it's way to the mod forums. Perhaps it will be deleted. Perhaps it will be viewed as a "post farm" or some other misconception. Whatever the case I'm going to speak my mind whether anyone likes it or not.

For 2 and a half years now I've been a loyal listener and supporter of GSP. For as much as 6 months or more my clan and I have been pretty intensive in our support of GSP and it's events, functions and shows.
And in recent days I decided I would make more of an effort to visit these forums and interact with the GSP crew and other fans.

And now I sit here writing this post feeling as though I made a huge mistake.
Reason?

I created a new sig picture that I use on every forum I visit outside of the AO Main forums. Apparently it was too large for Tarryk's liking. Tarryk sent me a PM expressing this and the way he expressed it offended me and generally pissed me off. I spent the time creating this signature and I am rather proud of it.
Yet he felt it was "too large" and "overwhelming" and that it took up entirely too much space on these boards.
Initially I was really angry because his PM to me was pretty much clear cut in that I had to alter a piece of art to suit his community that I spent the time and energy creating.
Now, although I kind of laughed it off (because why would someone so "prominent" in an internet radio community try to censor my self expression on their boards?)
I felt this was a bit hypocritical and after thinking about it, I came here and posted exactly how I felt about it.

After taking some time to chill the F*** out and let it go I returned believing that it really wasn't worth the trouble or energy to engage in a flame war or anger anyone any further.

So I tried to delete the original post and was unable to figure out how. I tried to edit the post hoping I could remove the content and that would be enough. But the boards do not allow this. You must have a subject and content in that subject. So I deleted the entire rant and left "............" behind.

I even went back and reduced the size of the picture to accomodate tarryks opinion of it.

Having done that, and wishing to not go into my reason for doing it, I was essentially criticized and people made jokes. Ok no big deal. But then Tacz made a direct accussation that I was shamelessly post farming.
If anyone of you really knew anything about me you would know that I am not one to take anyone's crap regardless of who you are or who you *think* you are.
So I responded in kind. I did not use any foul language, I did not call him names. I simply made it clear that his accussation was uncalled for and a bit hypocritical as well.

Now here it is yet again after the post it's self has been moved to the mod forums and I have a PM in my inbox from Otori telling ME to be more "respectful" and have more tact in my responses to individuals on these boards.

You know...for a group of individuals who run an "Adult" internet broadcast complete with disclaimer and warnings about the content of your shows, it occurs to me that the amount of censorship you use on these boards is anything but consistant with your shows.

So I just wanted to put this out there and hope you understand when I say that I for one find this treatment a bit offensive, rude and hypocritical.
You can see this as a flame if you wish. Delete it, move it to another forum...whatever. And in doing so you only substantiate what I now percieve as a hypocracy.

And be assured I will not be the only one.

All this over a sig? I dunno...I guess I wasn't in your shoes in the conversation...so, maybe it's not for me to comment.

As for Tacz's comment...I took it as he meant it was an opportunity for those who responded in the post to "farm." It wasn't stated very clearly, but that's how I took it.

That sounded oddly like a threat of some kind. I'm not really sure I understand the basis for it, personally. Whoever runs a forum makes the rules. That's just the way it is. I might not always agree with the rules, but I don't run the forum.

Has there been any attempt to really talk this out to make sure there wasn't some miscommunication?

Lemme see...you got so pissed because you were asked to reduce the size of your sig? That would be problem #1. Then you flip out because Tacz "jokingly" said you were post farming (after 10 other people said you were doing the same thing). What I don't get Maphenia, is that 99% of your posts are lucid and rational. Why did you flip out on this one thing?

If that's your take on it that's fine. But obviously this does not indicate any attempt by you to see it from my perspective.

Maephina, being another woman of STRONG opinion, large personal pride and a singular lack of tact in my posting at times, I can tell you that YES, you will be censored from time to time for statements that you do not really see as offensive. But just because you cannot see the offense in a statement does not mean that a good number of others will agree with you. In cases like these, you'll be censored.

It's happened to me on an occasion or two. I got over it without comment. I suggest you be sensible and do the same.

As an artist, I understand your pride in your work. Trust me, I really do. But as a professional, I know that the targets of any given piece of art will not always love your work as much as you do. It's life. We get over it, we learn from it and we start over (if we are wise and insightful) to make something more in tune with the desires of the audience rather than becoming angry that our own preferences and aesthetics do not always match with those of our viewers. One cannot tout on our intents and the amount of work we have done. We can only nod and find out what is wanted before starting again or simply abandoning the project.

Just some professional, objective and adult advice from a fellow artist.

Civil rights were'nt won by passivist, all beit this is kinda goofy but if the artist thinks that shrinking his/or her artwork would diminish its value to him/or herself, it should not be aloud to be done. Seeing as how this is a/an artwork "DJ'ing" forum, everyone here should come to that understanding without my proding and poking.

How bout next time you post a rule stating your max size for av/sig instead of getting personal with a listener/supporter.

If we all stand there and take it up the azz, maybe he'll get tired after a few and we can all go home. Hmm?

My perspective is that the post infuriated you so badly, is that you did not realize that the thread had BECAME a joke about post farming from the post #1 after yours. Everybody saw, your thread: "......." and decided to jump on it for post farming pseudo/fun/flaming because we've had post farming probs around here before and yadda yadda yadda. The reason you were "CENSORED" and the thread removed is because you picked out Tacz to flame...even though a whole slew of peeps had been doing it before.

STBootay, I know that you know me enough, that I'm not jumpimg on the Mod bandwagon and randomly censoring girls (even though I do prefer Katieblu wear a bra at the Wet t-shirt contests ).

Sounds pretty miniscule to me.

Who makes the judgement between art and filler? The observer or the artist? or the mod? If you want to make a rule , make a rule. Picking random sigs or what have you is not a good practice.

Well, Veldron's name is the only one there....so maybe I'm banning him....which isnt possible, nor would I do...does that make sense?
