So I've gotten a copy of Acid 4.0 and begun messing around with it.

My project? Lo Pan Is Bad to the Bone (George Thorogood vs David Lo Pan Mix)

Original concept: Take Bad to the Bone, add lots of Lo Pan samples and attempt to wrestle in a techno beat (if humanly possible)

My problems:
1) More than half of my Big Trouble in Little China wavs and MP3s did not survive my recently deceased hard drive, so I am short a number of good Lo Pan wavs and the amazingly cool oriental soundtrack clips from the scene where Lo Pan is getting funky with Mao Ying in his secret underground lair.

2) I'm a total Acid 4.0 n00b so I can't figure out how to get that hawt late-80s early 90s techno beat incorporated.

I need your help. Can anyone send me good Big Trouble in Little China wavs? Can anyone assist the n00bie DJ-let in figuring out how to put in the technoness?

Those interested in my meagre progress can download and listen at http://blood-dance.net/~azhrarn/bad.mp3.[/url]

If you want good quality samples for your project, your best bet is really to go rent (or buy) Big Trouble in Little China on DVD. Pop it in your PC and use something like SoundForge to record the exact sounds you want. That's really the only way you're going to get quality samples for it. Downloaded wavs are usually shitty quality that have been floating around the net for years, converted over and over to different formats, etc. I've done this with a handful of movies and it's definitely the way to go, rather than hunting for wavs for days on end, and then trying to find wavs that are of sufficient quality to mix at all.

Al I can say is that I'm anxious to see the outcome.
MAN It's been years since I've seen that movie. I remember lots of keenness though.

You could always ask Snake Plisken for copies of the original recordings....
