Put a CD in your microwave, turn out the lights, and nuke it for (no more than) 3 seconds. Makes a nice web of electrostatic coolness and burns it into the CD. Instant coaster.

i find that bad cds serve as better skets (or clay pigeons for you ppl short of redneck shotgun welding redneck vocab) and hampsters are better for the microwave. makes a nice nutrious snack.

Actually, it can be... if you leave it in there too long. Hence the 3 second warning. Too much more than that, and the disc will melt into a pile of plasitc and metallic goo, ignite in a nice ball of flame that incinerates the metal-mesh shielding on the microwave door that prevents you from being bathed in somwhere between 500 and 1100 watts of microwave radiation (enough to fry your corneas if you're exposed to if for any length of time).

But 3 seconds is fine.

And it looks really cool for a second and a half while the electromag arc zaps about a centimeter above the CD. Kinda like a spider web.
