Just wondering, does anyone see one that is a defining title, and not overly hyped or delayed.
I've taken a heavy interest to Soldner, which seems like a better and more beautiful Operation Flashpoint, though I am not sure how damage modeling on buildings (Can drive tanks through buildings, say goodbye to camping snipers! >=D ), as well as the gigantic size of places.
I mean I gotta admit that it does look very good.
Doom III?
I dunno....all I'm going to say.

You don't think Doom III is overly hyped?
Myself, I'm looking forward to Battlefield: Vietnam.

Thats why I say I dunno mate.
Personally I hear it and I gag. Carmack seemed to say from an interview a bit ago, that it would be the same sort of gameplay (Keys and monsters that just attack you and thats it, YAY!), no major focus on AI, ect.
I really think its not going to be this god given system, and is looking more to be a pretty graphics test rather than an actual game.

Ah, I understand now

That's the biggest thing with most games, they are all about Graphics, little about content. (Most MMORPGs are huge offenders this way... Look at Asheron's Call 2. It LOOKED good.

)
Maybe 2005 will have one

well, lemme see...DOOM 3 is still gonna be a while..sry guys...as for Halo 2, well, nobody really knows. some people say not 'till 2005, some people say not 'till thanksgiving. but knowing microsoft and their good marketing plans (it dont mean im always happy with them at all), theyre most likely gonna release it when everybodies free x-box live memebership runs out. seeing how it can be played over live, everybody will fork over cash to renew their service. thats good marketing. but what am i waiting for? easy, the rumered anarchy online expansion pack. aparently, this one is for social causes. i remeber also hearing about it on talk deviant, and org towns sounds really really really koo.

Battlefield: Vietnam looks good with me. Though i am still a little worried about the copters (i remember playing the mod with copters. Needless to say, i ended up flying upside down on the ground).
I'm interested (somewhat) in WoW. One of the main reason i will play it is because my friends plan on playing, and it'll be the first mmorpg we all will be in.
I will own AO: ToRK though. Org towns, that'll be fun.
Otherwise, i dunno. I haven't paid all that attention as of late to the game market.

Yeah, I do hope the Vietnam copters are easier to fly then the Desert Combat ones. I was great at crashing them, that's about it.

I haven't really read much about BF: Vietnam, since I pretty much just got the deluxe edition and DC. If you try flying for awhile offline, you'll eventually get used to them. It took awhile but I'm able to fly around, turn, shoot stuff (sorta), and land now. It's not much mind you, but it just takes practice.
The Vietnam 'copters will probably be close to DC's 'copters since it's the most played BF mod (I think). They probably won't spend that much time making it easier to use... That's just my guess though.

Then I'll just have to invest in a joystick

With a mouse, it took me about 6 months to actually be able to fly the planes

(I can land now... and almost learned to fly upside down)
But if they take the controls from the DC mod, wouldn't they have to pay the creators of it?
