CS is good in LANs, otherwise...it's gotten a little boring.

HL 2 CS will be much better (Vehicles, graphics, physics)..

As well as the new wave of First Person Games.

If you were any more incorrect, you would need a new word to describe how incorrect you are. :)

Define... CS takes NOO skill to play, when compared to the other FPS's out there today, the graphics ARE lame, no matter how you twist or turn it, and the gameplay is minimal!
The game is too slow to be a fast paced, unrealistic shooter, yet too fast and comicly designed to be a realistic tactical shooter...

Unlike games like UT2oo3, Q3, AvP2 or many other things like that, CS is not a twitchy skill game, but a game where the people who own it, play on rutine... Ever watch 'em play other games?... THEY DIE HORRIBLE DEATHS!

Yet a UT 2oo3 player or Quaker playing CS oddly enough owns...
THEY have skill... and a game with something resembling graphics... you know, a world that ISN'T square...
Whereas CS is old, outdated, and is generally worthless when compared to the others!

Nuff said!

CS obviously takes skill to play. Some get owned, some do not. n00bs die quick, veterans do well. That's called skill. You can shake-and-bake your theories to death, it won't override the fact that CS takes skill.

As far as the graphics, that's all a matter of taste. I find it to be very immersive, and I'm known to my RL friends to be extremely picky when it comes to that sort of thing.

The game is too slow to be a fast paced, unrealistic shooter, yet too fast and comicly designed to be a realistic tactical shooter...

And that's exactly where the appeal comes in for the die-hard CSers. It's not so realistic that it'll bore you to death as you set up team positions for each round, and not so fast that the realism is shot down from a plethora of 50-meter jumps and 9x speed boosts. It is, in my opinion, the ultimate in tactical shooters. You're not drowned in the lack of opportunities inherent in "reality" shooters, and you're not drown in the stupidity of cartoon shooters. You simply have to watch your ass and keep an ear out for that hail of incoming enemy (or friendly) fire.

Yet a UT 2oo3 player or Quaker playing CS oddly enough owns...

Having prior FPS skill definitely does help, but I have several RL friends who literally whup the living hell out of anything in Q3 or UT, yet they can't hold a match to me in CS.

Whereas CS is old, outdated, and is generally worthless when compared to the others!

You sound like every other angst-ridden FPSer who's tunnel vision of what-I-say-goes uberness has limited your ability to judge a game for the points it was created for. You seem to hate CS for the very reason I love it.

You either got owned constantly in CS (doubtful but possible), or you're just another quaker who loves the chaos of "OMG-RUN-SHOOT-5-MILE-JUMP-ULTRA-UBER-COMIC-BOOK-STYLE-MEGA-EXPLOSION-ACTION-QUADROOPLE-DAMAGE-GRENADES-DON'T-EVEN-SCRATCH-ME" games and refuses to accept that other styles of play might be fun too.

Which is fine, I dig the ubershooters too. But I absolutely love the perfectly immersive--yet not boring realistic--feel of counterstrike. And the strategy that is neccessary to be on a team that truly cannot be beaten until the other team adopts a similar strategy.

There is a give-and-take to CS that I have not seen in any other blatantly unlreastic and cartoony deathmatch extravaganza game like Q3 or UT.

Ok, you defined and I can accept your reasons, tho I still disagree on most oif it lol... but like you said, matter of oppinion...
A thing to note is, my deep hatred towards CS is tied very closely to the same reasons as to why I hate this town, which I stated in another post...

This place is to small and narrow minded, there is no room for anyone or thing different, and if you're not like the rest, you're hated by the majority... So obviously I try not to be like the rest!

But still, when CS first appeared, we were all over it, it was new different and it used the (at the time) oh so sweet Half Life engine...
But, at about that time, a large group of the "Die-Hard mainstream" people opened their eyes towards the fact that gaming is fun, and thus joined the comunity.
At first they were welcomed as we thought this might actually open their eyes and make them realize that being poppish and like everyone else was not the only option in life. But! Instead they just brought every bad element they had with them, and for the most of them, the only thing regarding human nature that I'm 100% intollorant towards...
"Narrow minded, holyer than thou, what I say is right cus I act real tuff and should have my way" - Smart arses! The type of people who hide in the masses, cus they simply lack the backbone to be any kind of individual, not in appearance, not in mind or personallity, they're all fresh off the assembly line, matching clothes, attitudes and oppinions.
And they now started implimenting that on the danish CS community. Everywhere you went; busses, in town, local bars. You'd hear these idiots sit and talk about how uber they were, and how they'd just ganked some n00b and all said with a "I can't really take you seriously when you sound so damn tough guy clichè". Yet when asked to play anything else, they were the bottom of the food chain.
You would have thought that someone who's never done anything but dance to techno at disco's wouldn't be distracted by the flashy shooting from Q3 or UT... or even AvP2. But still, they manage to loose every time they play, and thus get violent and start threatening you IRL.
These are the poeple who ruined it for me, and as I found that they simply lacked the skill (or overview, or gaming experience, or liking or what ever suits the purpose) to play the other games, they qiuckly became more disirable!

But if you lot still like CS, be my guest, play to your heats content...
And know forever that I'd have you all in AvP
Yeah I know, I played that game WAAAY to much! but what can I do?... I love the bugs!

i think i already stated my opinion bout cs some month ago.
i played a lot cs, but since that beta where they changed the player camera position it started to suck more and more with each version.
the only 'skill' u need is to know where the crosshair is realy!
the best nick i ve ever seen in a cs game was: "seh was, treff was, bringt aber nix"
and that is 100% how i feal when playing cs.

so if u want a not too fast (btw avp2 is slow too, u should play avp1! thats fast) shooters, with some realistics in it and a graphik that doesnt suck,

TAKE Day of Defeat!
Hell the only 2 games i still play on a regular basis are AO and DoD.
