LOL Arnold Schwarzenegger is running for Gov of CA. He plans on being in office a few years and then running for President.. I can see it now. He becomes President and we goto battle.. if we lose or get kicked out he'll say "I'll be back" and if we kick their ass it'll be "Austa la vista baby"

w00t! Schwarzenegger for President!

Or as a friend said .."Sadaam you are bad bad man I crush you like puny skinny man"

*laughs* No kidding, Trist..

But I thought he wasn't born in America?

If he wasn't born here, I don't believe he can run.. You have to be born in America to be the prezzy...

Don't quote me though.. I might just be misinformed :P

Long ago, he said On a SNL Sketch.

That he would just crawl into a big Midwestern Woman and come out bloody and waving the American Flag.

There is a slight possibility that I'm wrong on this but I'm pretty sure the constitution states that after so many years of citizenship that you can run for President.

...If that's not the case then I guess the closest he'll ever get is Demolition Man. :)

U. S. Constitution wrote:Article. II.
Section 1.
Clause 5: No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Arnold cannot become president of the US, unless a constitutional amendment is passed, and at this time this seems very unlikely. I think the system of electoral votes would be replaced by the popular vote before that happens.
Read the US Constitution here and the Constitutional Amendments here.

The way I read that is what I posted above ... now I'm confused.

Those that were citizens at the TIME of adoption of the constitution, regardless of their birth origin were eligible.

The fourteen year residency refers to those that are considered eligible(by being naturally born in the US or a citizen at the time of the adoption) citizens of the US having to have lived in the US for fourteen years.

At least, that's how I remember it. (wow, I did retain SOME knowledge from school :P)

As far as I can tell most politicians couldn't lead the way out of tunnel even if they could see the light at the end. But that may just be my cynical side talking.

What!? Was Ronald Reagan a great actor? (Don't know. Never seen any of his movies ) He got to be both govenor of California (1967-'75) and President of the US for two terms (1981-'89)! Ronny Raygun ruled! (Well maybe not)

I was wondering what happened to that statement... and here it is... months later...
At first I believed he'd just lost it, and that it might be true, but now I don't... not if it's only just come to your attention, cus then we knew before you, and it's your country!...

I'm confused...

I don't know how many of you who have seen the movie Demolition Man? But since I am a movie freak I can share my knowledge from this movie and they actually say that Arnold was president at some time in the 21st century. This is said during a conversation while riding a car when the police Lenina Huxley mentions looking up something in the "Schwarzenegger Presidential Library". Of course John Spartan asks "Schwarzenegger was the president?!" And she replies "Yes" :D

I see that this movie might actually become based on a true story soon... which is scary ;)
