Is this supposed to be a horror film or one of those films that is so bad that it is funny and you watch it b/c of that?

Probably a comedy ... But I can't wait!!
I used to be addicted to Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street... and always thought it'd be cool if those two teamed up! AND NOW THEY ARE!

I was actually pretty fond of Jason back in the day. ^_^
I was repulsed at the idea of Jason X. And for a B movie it was alright... right until Jason was "modified". ^_^; Then it got ~really~ dumb.
Just watched the trailer;
and good or bad, I think I wanna see this.

I think Freddy's gonna win. Jason's big and all, but Freddy's gonna go all ninja with them finger-knives.
But the tides may turn if Freddy has to flee at any point, because then Jason's true power will be shown. The ability to slowly walk/lumber at you, and no matter how fast you run, he's right there behind you. Oh, and he can make you trip on an anthill and go sprawling and then not be able to stand back up very quickly, about once every half an hour.

My bet is on Selene, Kate Beckinsale in latex will leave Jason and Freddy drowling and she'll finished them both of before they can say bodylicious

Well, this is the right thread to ask the question I have wanted to ask....
Did you first fall in love with Freddy and Jason due to the terror aspect or the comedic aspect?
I mean, Jason is a lumbering dude with apparently no brain or thoughts and all he does is kill horny half dressed teenagers right after the male has finished poking the lungs of the female.

what made the series so memorable for you, and what is the best memory you have of watching them?
Mine is laughing so hard at Jazon gutting a man in that one movie with the boat and the kids on the cruise, then stabbing the female as she sat there in a state of "I'm too stupid to move. wha wha wha, estrogen clogging mind. I'll just scream even though for some odd reason no one on this tiny boat seems to be able to hear through these thin walls of plastic." I laughed so hard that my whole family was worried I had lost my mind.

No one said any of those movies were any GOOD.
I liked jason cause when I first saw Friday the 13th (the one where he kills all the camp counsolers), I was like 7 or something. Maybe, maybe MAYBE 10. And back then? Dem some scary shizzle yo. ^_^
I've always had a thing for scary movies, scary games, scary things. ^_^ Safe scary. Not dangerous scary-- like juggling knives.
Now I can't watch any of the Friday or Nightmare (or Holloween; Mike = gheto jason with a creepier mask) anymore. They're just to cheesy now. ^_^

Never did like Jason that much. He's just a big killer guy. Pretty boring over-all.
Freddy, however, is awesome. He can walk up, crack a joke, gut you like a fish with those cool-ass claws, and be back to his corner in time for rounds 2 through 18.
My favorite scene that I can remember (don't recall which Nightmare it was) is when a dude is sitting in a coffee joint at the counter area and the waitress brings him a pizza, sets it down, walks away. Freddy suddenly sliiiides into frame with this smug look, resting his jaw on his fist with his elbow on the counter and says "Yup, if the food don't kill ya, the service will. Huhuh." Then out come the claws. Bwaha.
