If you havent watched the so-far released Animatrix short films, you should check them out.

www.theanimatrix.com , and I think two full ones, plus a shorter one, plus the intro trailer are out there.

So basically it's made in cooperation with the guys that made The Matrix. It's like 7 directors and animation studios, making they say 9 short films. They are based on Matrix, but have their own twist of art interpretation (I guess depending on the animators and director).

It's an interesting "alternate" side-road while waiting for The Matrix films to come out. The renaissance one kind of reminded me of AO in some ways. :) I dig this kind of stuff....

Anyway...see ya at the next dance at Reet's!

They released the first 2-3 episodes, yet the BLOODY downloaded video will not work, so I can only watch it online.

Wait for the DVD, i guess.

I got the released episodes in mpeg format, plus that thing on the side that says "Last Flight of the Osiris" that is supposedly just exclusive to be shown during that movie Dreamcatcher.

Well, it's not the full Last Flight of the Osiris, it's like 90 seconds of it....but its still cool. I'm gonna go see Dreamcatcher in theatres just to watch this trailer!

NOTE: These aren't kid's cartoons. Don't show them to kids, I'd say. The Renaissance one deals with some hard issues, shows some nudity, and basically tells the story of how cruel and ruthless man can be. Just a fair warning hehe.

the animation are suposed to tie in with the movies. So is the game thats coming out soon. This game looks asome. Everything is to tie in with the movie. A couple months ago newsweek had a big cover story about it.

My friends got it for me, they always get me cool stuff. I have them on a CD. They are too big to email. Maybe I can put them on my hard drive and then onto Kazaa or something. Let me play around with that and I'll let you know.

The Osiris one is killer, although it's not the entire thing. Just 90 or so seconds, but enough to know it's gonna be great.

They are on my Kazaa (Lite) now. Just connect to the user Maelbracn (Maelbracn@kazaa) and get them. If my Kazaa isnt up when you try, let me know here and I'll open it. I dont leave it open 24/7.

Most of them are released on the site (or a few of them), the rest will come (especailly the ones made by those guys at Final Fantasy) in June...

But I just can't wait till the game and the movie come... yes no one will see me on AO during that month!

last flight is awesome

Postby epiphonic » Tue Apr 01, 2003 7:59 am

went and saw dreamcatcher.
dreamcatcher was ok, it sucked and it was cool
eh?

But i had no idea i would be walking into the animatrix, which was
phuggin phenominal.
I could have sworn it was like, 15 or 13 minutes long.
guess i saw the whole thing then or was it twenty?
It got pretty heart breaking. I was clawing the seat handles.
this is the shizzle my nizzles.

That was the "whole thing", epi, but it was 1 of 9 stories that are told by different animators. My little sis told me all about it the other day, said it was incredible.

That one that's 15 mins and opens for Dreamcatcher isn't on the internet yet, probably won't be for a long time if at all before the DVD release, but it's the episode that's done by the same folks who did Final Fantasy: Spirits Within.

Go to www.whatisthematrix.com and check out the animatrix episodes, 2 are available right now, and I can't stop watching them.

In a way, it sucks, because it's the best anime I've ever seen production-wise (and yes I've seen a lot). Now I can't ever watch an anime and say "hey that's cool", it'll always be "that's not as cool as animatrix was".

I would dissagree... Ghost in a Shell was better production wise, but this is really up there. Anyway Anime CANNOT compare to the flat out insanity that the movie and the games (hopefully) will have.

Wow a second one eh? Hopefully it makes a bit more sense than the first one, AKIRA was better. But ghost in the shell was very cool!

GitS actually makes perfect sence to me.
But I've seen it several times,
and it's a movie that requires that you see it at least twice. ^_^
