The Temporary Internet Destruction
Posted: Tue Nov 12, 2002 3:55 amMan. Over the past two hours (8pm-10pm EST Nov 11), the internet has taken a major nosedive and is just now getting back up to specs.
Internic.net went down and we lost an internet hub.
For those of you who don't know, this means that MANY domain names (including stream.gridstream.com and www.gridstream.com) were down for a short time. Many people even lost internet connection around the world.
This has happened once before a couple weeks ago. Some hacker(s) found a way to attack a major internet backbone and bring down a good percentage of internet domains at once.
That's bad news. I certainly hope that internic finds a way to stop/counter the attacks.
Needless to say, the past couple hours have been very very stressfull for me. I'm going to Reets to party now.
