I call them "Handy Pocket Guides" because they're info pages you can pop up for reference in-game instead of tabbing out to a web browser. In-game guides can also have things like waypoint buttons. The drawback is having to download a new one if there are updates, but I don't expect I'll have time to update this too terribly often, anyway.
1) Download the file. It's at the bottom of this post.
Depending on your browser, you may have to right-click the save link and manually select "Save link". If you just save it on your desktop, it'll be easy to find, and we're gonna move it somewhere else next anyway.
2) Find the file you saved. It should be called "jhpg.zip". Select it and Ctrl-X Cut it.
3) Start the AO Launcher and go to Settings -> GUI -> Scripts ... open. This will open the folder AO expects your scripts to be in.
4) Paste the "jhpg.zip" file there with Ctrl-V, and then right-click it to extract it here.
(On Windows8, or possibly if you have other compression programs installed, it might "suggest" extracting it to Scripts/jhpg. You don't want that. Delete that last part and just extract it right here in the Scripts folder.)
It will ask about overwriting existing files. Just say "Yes to all". See below* if "overwrite" worries you.
5) You should now have a "jhpg" script and a "Jezebelle_HPG" sub-folder under scripts/text. You can double-check if you want, or you can just go to AO and see if they work.
6) In AO, you can open the guide index with the command:
/jhpg
To make a macro for that, you would just type, or paste this command:
/macro Jhpg /jhpg
To jump directly to the most recent edition of a specific guide, use:
/jhpg Anniversary
/jhpg Halloween
/jhpg Christmas
/jhpg Valentines
Or to go to a specific year:
/jhpg Anniversary2021
/jhpg Halloween2020
/jhpg Anniversary2020
/jhpg Christmas2019
/jhpg Halloween2019
/jhpg Anniversary2019
/jhpg Christmas2018
/jhpg Halloween2018
/jhpg Anniversary2018
/jhpg Valentines2018
/jhpg Christmas2017
/jhpg Halloween2017
/jhpg Anniversary2017
/jhpg Valentines2017
/jhpg Christmas2016
/jhpg Halloween2016
/jhpg Anniversary2016
/jhpg Valentines2016
/jhpg Christmas2015
You can make macros for these, too:
/macro Aniv /jhpg Anniversary
/macro Hallo /jhpg Halloween
/macro Xmas /jhpg Christmas
/macro Vday /jhpg Valentines
The word after /macro, the "Aniv", "Hallo", "Xmas", or "Vday" part, is what goes on the macro button. You can replace that with whatever works for you. There are "make a macro" buttons for all that in the first index file that comes up with just /jhpg. So that one command is all you need to get started.
Once you confirm that these work, you should probably delete the "jhpg.zip" file from your scripts folder.
You should now be able to use that macro or script to pop up Handy Pocket Guides to the Halloween, Anniversary, Christmas, and Valentine's Day events in your Info window. Please let me know if you have any trouble with any part of this process.
*about overwriting
If you're concerned about overwriting existing files when you extract the zip, feel free to back up anything you want. Backups are always a good idea. Just don't worry too much about this because I was pretty careful to arrange it so it should only overwrite previous versions of these guides.
Overwriting "All" includes only:
1) the script "jhpg" that you use to open the info page and
2) a "text/Jezebelle_HPG" folder where this guide and the previous versions of it are
You might be using "text" for other panels and scripts, but I put all the files for these guides in a sub-folder under that, so it should only actually overwrite what's in the sub-folder, the previous copies of this guide, which is really what you want. This package includes my previous guides too, so it's okay to just overwrite the old ones so it can update them. If you want to look back at those the next time they come around, they'll still be there. The only thing that isn't tucked safely out of the way in "text/Jezebelle_HPG" is the "jhpg" script itself. If you happen to already have a different script called "jhpg" that you want to keep (I figured that would be pretty unlikely), you should rename that before extracting this one. Otherwise, it's perfectly safe to overwrite existing files for this.
